KRISTINA'S WEEKLY EMAIL OF THOUGHT-PROVOKING ESSAYS & VIDEOS TO KEEP YOU CONNECTED TO YOURSELF ON THIS JOURNEY CALLED LIFE
|
Greetings!
September is always a time of new beginnings with the start of the school year, the Jewish holidays (L'Shanah Tovah!), and the Fall Equinox, which is hard to believe happens next week! This is why it's a great time to check-in with yourself, re-evaluate who you want to be, what you want to do, how you want to live, and make the adjustments necessary - and that will look and feel different for every single one of us.
There's no question that 2020 has forced us to confront ourselves and adapt in a variety of ways. If we're honest, it is likely reflecting or influencing - either directly or indirectly - deeper changes that have been needed for a while now, maybe even our entire lives, but now there is nowhere to run, and nowhere to hide... ! So instead of resisting the change, we need to move through it and trust there is only more peace, wellness and fulfillment on the other side. This requires self-worth, discipline and the courage to embrace perhaps the most profound transformation of our lives.
In addition to today's PGG, for some extra motivation to make the effort, a reminder that your change can change the world in the PGG Video of the Week. This week's Instagram post is how a change in perspective has made all the difference in one of my client's lives. And as a bonus clip, you can check out my response to the question "What is your message to the world?" from the podcast style interview I did last month with Rick Young.
Lastly, if you look forward to and benefit from these weekly missives and PGG essays and want to show your gratitude, any donations for my efforts are welcome and appreciated here: Paypal.me/kristinaleonardi. And as always, please feel free to contact me with any comments about anything.
Big hug,
Kristina

The Change-Up
Originally published on September 25, 2012
When things aren’t quite going your way, it’s easy to fall into the grass-is-always-greener syndrome. But as the saying goes, before you judge a man (or covet his life), walk a mile in his shoes.
The fact is, our lives are the sum total of all the choices we’ve ever made up until this point — a combination unique unto ourselves. That means we have, on some level, created the situation we’ve wanted or needed in order to learn and grow on this journey called life.
So whatever your state of affairs, take full responsibility for it. The good news is that if you don’t like it, because you got yourself into it, you totally have the power to get out of it!
A lot of my clients right now are at the point of no return, where there’s no more delaying the inevitable. The only thing they can do is to go through — there is no way around, there is no way back — they need to make a change or take action in a certain direction because there’s no alternative, whether because of forced external realities or an internal malaise and dissatisfaction that they can no longer withstand.
Why changes haven’t been made up to now is a more complicated and varied topic for another time. Often it’s a stronger sense of obligation to others, what they want or would make them happy, that prevents us from moving forward to the beat of our own drum. But contrary to Hollywood movie plots, we are the ones who have to live in our bodies, so it’s up to us to do what needs to be done. It’s time to go big or go home.
Not fully convinced that you can move forward without going all topsy-turvy or time travel-y to get it right? Give me a buzz and I’ll be like a freaky fictional device that helps you wake up and smell the coffee. I’ll help you understand and appreciate where you’re at and what changes you can make so that you can learn and experience whatever you need to be the best you can be, Right Here, Right Now.
