As Salaam Alaikum My Sibling,
Our prayer is that each of you are doing well. We hope you are continuing to remain very conscious of guarding your own souls, as well as, protecting yourselves and others from the Covid-19. Be deliberate about keeping your mask face on and social distancing. Don't relax, it's a dangerous virus. As finals are rapidly approaching and you prepare, we implore you to seek Allah's assistance and insha Allah, your hearts, minds and spirits will be fully illuminated. Despite all that's happening in our country, continue to struggle hard to stay focused and don't worry, be happy!!!! Be hopeful and continue to lean heavily on your religion. Remember Allah says verily after difficulty comes relief. Thus, our faith equips us to navigate during these challenging moments. Life will have its difficulties and we strive to face them with courage. Remain optimistic!!!
With the anticipated drama surrounding the election, CML along with other identity centers thought ahead and planned a healing space. Tonight and tomorrow we invite you to join us for Cultivating Hope in Times of Uncertainty which we highly recommend you sign up to attend. Look forward to seeing you there.π

We aim to build a space of connection, exploration, and solidarity among A/API students. The International House and the Center for Muslim Life invite all (domestic and international) undergraduate, graduate and professional Duke students who identify or are perceived as Asian, Pacific Islander, Desi, Persian, and Arab (southwest Asian).
In the movie The Farewell, a headstrong Chinese-American woman returns to China when her beloved grandmother is diagnosed with terminal cancer. The 20/20 Fellowship Application is now open.
2020 is a watershed year in our collective experience demanding a renewed commitment to racial justice to understand our past, respond to the present, and shape a better future. How might character and purpose guide and sustain this work to bring a better world into focus? The 20/20 Scholars explore the realities of racism in our time through a spring seminar series with practitioners, activists and academics, an immersive summer experience working with and in a community, and a fall course to gain a deeper understanding of their own purpose and commitments to racial equity in our time. You can learn more about this paid Fellowship and find the application here.
