Registration for in-seat summer school for students entering kindergarten through 8th grade will close on Friday, June 19. If your student is interested in attending, please register them by Friday using the links below. More detailed information is below and can also be found online here .

KINDERGARTEN JUMPSTART: JULY 20 - JULY 31 (IN-SEAT CLASSES)
Kindergarten Jumpstart is a half-day program for students entering kindergarten in the fall of 2020. The program runs July 20 - July 31. There is a morning AM class from 8:30 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. and an afternoon PM class from 12:00 p.m. - 2:30 p.m.  Registration is open from Friday, June 8 - June 19.  

1ST - 8TH GRADE SUMMER SCHOOL: JULY 13 - JULY 31 (IN-SEAT CLASSES)
In-Seat summer school will be offered Monday through Friday for students entering 1st-8th grade July 13, 2020, through July 31, 2020, from 8:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. Students enrolling in summer school must have attended the Hallsville School District during the 2019-2020 school year. The primary and intermediate schools will offer classes in reading and math. Middle school will offer remediation classes in reading, math, science, and social studies.  Registration is open from Friday, June 8 - June 19.  

9TH - 12TH GRADE SUMMER SCHOOL: JULY 13 - JULY 31 (ONLINE INSTRUCTION)
Online summer school will be offered Monday through Friday for students entering 9th - 12th grade July 13, 2020, through July 31, 2020. It is expected that students will have 4 hours of work and instruction per day.     Online registration is available on a first-come, first-serve basis.  You can complete the online registration here . Registration forms must be complete separately for each student. All registration must be completed by Friday, June 19, 2020.  

Course Offerings: The purpose of an online-only summer school is to provide several options for students to receive high school credit and therefore continue on-track for graduation. Offerings will include Personal Finance and Health for initial credit, and Credit Restoration for students needing to recover credit from failed courses needed for graduation.

The Hallsville Board of Education will meet in regular session on Wednesday, June 24 at 6:00 p.m. An agenda for the meeting can be found here when available.
Kindergarten Registration
2020-2021 School Year

Online enrollment and registration for the 2020-2021 school year will open on Monday, June 22, 2020, at 8:00 a.m. for all children who will be 5 years old on or before July 31, 2020, and will be entering kindergarten in August 2020. If your child is planning on attending Kindergarten Jumpstart , all registration and verification documents must be completed by Wednesday, July 15, 2020. If your child is not planning on attending Kindergarten Jumpstart, all registration and verification documents must be completed and submitted by Friday, July 31, 2020.   

All families with incoming kindergarten students must register online and complete the Residency & New Student Verification Form . Online registration must be completed using a computer and can not be completed on a smartphone device. For families that need access to a computer, on-campus registration will be available the week of July 13 - July 17. Please call our district registrar, Angie Cochran, at 573-696-5512 ext. 334 or email [email protected] to set-up an appointment. For health and safety reasons, walk-in registration will not be allowed.  

Students will not be a registered student with the district or allowed to attend school until the full enrollment process is completed and the district has the required documents on file with the Registrar’s Office. Documents needed to complete the Residency & New Student Verification Form are:  
  • Copy of Child’s birth certificate
  • Copy of Immunization records
  • Copy of State issued ID of the parent on the birth certificate. If unavailable, a parenting plan or other legal document must be supplied to the school.
  • Acceptable Residency Verification Documents:
  • Two (2) current and different utility bills (gas, water, or electric) showing the parent/guardian’s printed name and address. Bills must be dated within the last 30 days. Final or disconnect notices will not be accepted.
OR
  • A current rental agreement or closing settlement statement less than 60 days old.

New & Returning Student Registration
2020-2021 School Year

Summer Reading 2020
Daniel Boone Regional Library

DBRL’s Summer Reading program opened on Monday! Their theme is “Imagine Your Story” and encourages readers of all ages to dream, create and read with your library all summer long. Books by Snail mail is also available for our school aged children and runs through August 15! You can register online here and sign up for books that will be delivered to your child in the mail!

Dragonfly Max & Hallsville App

Our Athletic & Activities Department is moving away from their current communication tool, Remind, and joining the Hallsville App and DragonFly Max! 

Athletic & Activities updates from our Activities Director, Brad Blakemore, will now be sent via the Hallsville App! In settings, be sure to turn on notifications for Athletics & Activities!  You can download the free Hallsville App here:  

For program specific communication (football, softball, NHS, FBLA), program sponsors will use a new communication and student management system called DragonFly Max! This online system will replace our current Remind system starting July 1, 2020. DragonFly allows parents and guardians to upload sports physicals, sign registration forms, and communicate with program sponsors.  Families and student participants need to register online or download and register using the DragonFly Max App to continue receiving updates from coaches and sponsors!

The Hallsville Food Pantry will take place on Tuesday, June 23. Hallsville Pantry participants who will be picking up food, need to call 573-696-3621 for a pickup time appointment

The Hallsville Farmers & Artisans Market is open for the season on Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. at Tribble Park. Shop for local fresh produce, beef, herbs, jellies, elderberry juice, bath products, and more!

Hallsville City Wide Garage Sale 
The Hallsville City Wide Garage Sale will be this Saturday, June 20th! To be put on the list and map, come into City Hall, call 573-696-3885 or email [email protected] to sign up. Deadline to sign up is Thursday, June 18th at noon. 
The Hallsville Historical Society will also be selling carry-out BBQ lunch meals at Morgenthaler House & Museum located at 112 Hwy OO.
