Color Out Of Space (2020)(NR)
When one thinks of Nicholas Cage as an actor your mind may tend to relate him to light-hearted comedies, adventures for pieces of lost American history, and otherwise average box office releases. But what if I told you he started doing horror movies? What if I told you he was  really good  in horror movies? The 2006 Wicker Man remake aside, Cage's filmography of late has included some rather extreme diversions from his normal acting fare with him dabbling with very dark and very serious horror flicks -- and they are damn good.

Color Out of Space is the most recent of these diversions and is based on the H.P. Lovecraft story by the same name. The gist? A farmer, Nathan Gardner (Nicholas Cage), and his family are pitted against an extraterrestrial threat that turns their peaceful rural lifestyle into a living nightmare. More need not be said.

Watch it today on Hoopla Digital.

Enjoyed it? Try Mandy (2018) on Hoopla as well for another dark Nicholas Cage horror.
