Webinar: Wisconsin's New LLC Statute
What does it mean and what should you opt to do?
Monday, November 21st at Noon

In April 2022, Governor Evers signed Act 258 (“New LLC Law”) into law, repealing and recreating Chapter 183 the Wisconsin Uniform Limited Liability Company Law, which governs limited liability companies (“LLC”).

The New LLC Law’s provisions will apply to LLCs formed on or after January 1, 2023. Existing LLCs have the option to opt-in to the New LLC Law prior to the effective date or they may also opt-out of the New LLC Law and continue to be subject to the prior law. A third option is for the LLC members to do nothing, neither opt-in nor opt-out of the New LLC Law.

What should you do? Join us for a webinar with Joseph A. Camilli, Shareholder in the Business Practice Group at von Briesen & Roper, s.c., to discuss the various options for LLCs.

All are welcome. This event is free to attend.

Main Street Bounceback Grant updates!
Gov. Tony Evers recently announced that an additional $25 million will be invested into the Main Street Bounceback Grant Program, bringing the governor’s total investment into the program to $100 million.

Gov. Evers’ Main Street Bounceback program, which provides $10,000 to recipients to help them move or expand into vacant commercial spaces, has now supported more than 6,600 small businesses and nonprofits in communities in all 72 counties in Wisconsin.

The deadline to apply for a Main Street Bounceback Grant has been extended to December 31, 2022. Grants will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis until all the funds are disbursed.

Grant funds are available as part of the American Recovery Plan Act (ARPA) and distributed by the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC) regional partners. Businesses must apply through the partner organization for the region in which they are located.

The program is open to new or existing businesses opening a new location or expanding operations in a vacant commercial property where the lease commences, or sales contract closes, on or after January 1, 2021, and on or before December 31, 2022.

Additional information about the Main Street Bounce Back Grants is available here: https://wedc.org/programs-and-resources/mainstreet-bounceback-grants/.

Contact Heike if you are applying for the grant and need an Acknowledgement Letter.

WMC Foundation’s Future Wisconsin Project addresses our state’s long-term systemic, economic challenges. With partner representation from business, government and education, this program seeks to bring all stakeholders of the economy to the table to develop solutions we can all implement. Last year, the project released Wisconsin 2035 to detail the challenges facing Wisconsin’s business community and propose potential solutions for long-standing economic growth. The publication identifies the workforce shortage as the biggest problem facing Wisconsin’s business community, and how to tackle it through attraction, retention and expansion. The Future Wisconsin Summit is the yearlong culmination of the project’s work and its impact on the direction of our state’s economy.

Welcome Chad Adler!

608-419-1286
Veteran Owned & Supporting Veterans

Owner, Chad Adler proudly started serving his country in February 2001, as he enlisted into the United States Marine Corps. In May of that year, he had earned his title of Marine. Following the tragic events of September 11, 2001, Chad and the rest of the Marines in 2nd Battalion 24th Marines, 4th Marine Division, that were based in Madison, Wisconsin found themselves back on a plane heading to Camp Pendleton, California on June 1st 2004, where they would prepare for their deployment to Iraq only 3 months later. On April 8th, 2005, the Madison based Marines were home, and reunited with friends, families, and loved ones. After leaving the Marines in 2008, Chad once again laced up his boots, this time putting on the uniform of a Soldier in the Wisconsin Army National Guard in May of 2011. Serving another 6 years, Chad’s time serving in the Armed Forces of the United States, finally came to an end in May of 2017.
In 2015, Chad started his own fundraiser event, at a local restaurant where he was working part time on top of his full time job at a hospital in the Madison area. The purpose for this fundraiser started out as Chad wanted to raise money to help get Homeless Veterans in the Madison Area a warm meal on or around Thanksgiving that year. Being a homeless Veteran himself at one point, Chad wanted to “give back” and help out other Veterans that were struggling like he had for a number of years. Often you will hear Veterans, or those currently serving in the military say things like: “I GOT YOUR SIX” (I got your back) or “NO ONE GETS LEFT BEHIND.” Finally back on his feet, and seeing a perfect opportunity to really act on these slogans, Chad put together an event that is held annually in November, and has grown into a “I can’t wait” event as most of the regular attendees often say. As of the end of 2021, the fundraiser has grossed almost $90,000 that has been donated to Veteran organizations all over State of Wisconsin. Chad is constantly trying to think of other ways to raise money to help his fellow Veterans in Wisconsin.
