Envision Utah, alongside other state agencies, has launched a survey to gather feedback from residents as Utah’s population continues to boom. The survey, called “Guiding our Growth,” centers on how Utah should handle its rapid expansion. We want to hear from people about what they view as the greatest challenges of growth and their ideas for how we can accommodate that growth in a way that retains a high quality of life here.

The high-speed way Utah is growing right now raises worries as never before. Alongside other state agencies, Envision Utah launched Guiding Our Growth, a new campaign seeking to gauge Utahns' real feelings. Convening this rare statewide discussion is not intended, however, as simply measuring public sentiment. Answers collected through February will feed a series of more detailed growth scenarios, which residents will then have another chance to weigh in on.

Population growth is a result of all the great things we love about Utah...but that growth then threatens all the things that we love about Utah. Utahns these days are more concerned about growth than at any point in the last 25 years, according to an Envision Utah survey earlier this year, with 42% of respondents saying they think future growth will make the state worse. Of them, 13% said “a lot worse,” and 30% said “a little worse.”
