Friday 4-H Nugget

Greetings 4-H Community,

This month has been packed full of committee meetings, Career Development Events and lots of other activities. This past Saturday marked 20 years of the September 11, 2001 attack on our country. Our current 4-H members where not even born yet and some of us very clearly remember what we were doing. I (Robby)happened to be sitting in my 8th grade history class and remember Mr. Hudson turning on the news with a look I had never seen before, saying that everything will be okay and that we just watched history unfold before us with a very serious tone. Let us remember the lives and sacrifices many have made for our country.

Leader Banquet Update

This is the 75^th year of continuous sponsorship by Interra Credit Union, Elkhart County Farm Bureau Inc., and Ceres Solutions!
The banquet will be Thursday, November 4^th in the ECCC. The program will begin at 6pm. Dinner will be provided.
You will be receiving a formal invitation in the mail.

Milk Quality Contest Results

Eight of our 4-H members have been practicing learning more about the dairy industry and learning how to identify cheese, milk off flavors and dairy/non-dairy products over the past month and participated at the State 4-H/FFA Career Development Event last weekend. Both teams placed 1st in their divisions! Way to go!

Junior team individual placings: Front Row (Left to Right) Owen Nisen, 11^th place, Eloise Yacks, 6^th place, Sharon Overholt, 4^thplace, Pierce Lucas, 2^ndplace.

Senior 4-H team individual placings: Back Row (Left to Right): Oliver Nisen 2^nd place, Lydia Nisen 1st place, Owen Sutton 3^rd place, Ethan Sutton 4^th place.

Upcoming Volunteer Training

Our first Leader’s Meeting will be on October 12^th at 7pm in the Fair Board Room. Please make sure that at least one leader from your club is able to attend to receive your 2022 leader’s packet. Also don't forget to turn in your club information sheet to the Extension office.
