Expiring SAM.gov Registration Extensions

From the GSA Office of Procurement Ombudsman:

OMB has authorized the extension of upcoming SAM expirations through 12/01/2022. There will be an automatic, 60-day extension for any existing SAM.gov entity registration needing to renew with an expiration date ranging between August 1, 2022, and August 31, 2022. No action is required on the part of entity registrants.

In mid-August, there will be a 60-day extension for any existing SAM.gov entity registration needing to renew with an expiration date ranging between September 1, 2022, and September 30, 2022. The need for additional extensions for entities expiring in October 2022 will be assessed in mid-September.

Each impacted registration renewal will have 60 days added to its expiration date. Entity administrators impacted by this change will receive an email from samadmin@sam.gov with the subject line “60-Day SAM.gov Extension Granted for [Entity Name/DUNS/CAGE]." The new expiration dates will be included in the SAM entity management extracts and available through web services after the records are extended.

PTAC Tip:
If you have an expiring registration, start your renewal at least 30-60 days prior to the expiration date. This will help prevent your registration from expiring should there be any issues with your renewal.

Your procurement specialist is here to help! Contact them or call 623-845-4700.
Are you a Veteran? Is your business certified?

On January 1, 2023, the CVE Certification for veteran-owned businesses will transition to the U.S. Small Business Administration. If you are thinking of certifying your business as a Veteran Owned Small Business (VOSB) or Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), the time is now to begin your application. PTAC suggests you begin the process no later than October 31. Visit https://vetbiz.va.gov/ to learn more about the process.

PTAC Specialists can assist with the certification process. Contact your specialist or call 623-845-4700.

SAM.gov Entity Validation Forum
August 9, 2022
10:00-11:00 AM (AZ time)
1:00-2:00 PM (EDT)
Virtual Event

If you are about to register for the first time in SAM.gov, about to begin renewing your SAM.gov registration, or even only trying to get a Unique Entity ID (the identifier that replaced the DUNS number in April 2022) for the first time, you will need to validate your entity as part of the process. GSA is hosting a series of events to share information about the validation process, how it has changed and the improvements we’re making to the current experience.

You can register here for an online session happening on August 9, 2022 at 1:00 PM EDT that will cover the new entity validation process, review requirements for documentation, and address frequently asked questions for those about to begin the process.

This August 9 session is focused on assisting entities that are new to the registration process or getting a Unique Entity ID for the first time.

The August 9 session will cover topics such as:

What is entity validation?
How does entity validation work in SAM.gov?
What documentation is required and accepted, and what isn’t?
What do I do next after my entity is validated?
Where do I get help?
If you’re already in the validation process, we held a separate session on August 3 at 1:00 PM that is better suited for you. We will make a recording of that session available online soon. We will do the same after the August 9 session as well.

Both of these training sessions will cover the entity validation process phase of SAM.gov registration and what to do if it doesn’t go as planned, depending on where you are in the process.

Register now and join GSA’s Integrated Award Environment (IAE) to learn more about validating your entity in SAM.gov.

Space is limited for this presentation. However, we will make a recording of the event available online for all to watch. We also may hold additional events in September, based on need.

FAR Basics: Understanding the Most Important Regulations in Government Contracting

The Federal Acquisition Regulations govern your work with the federal government. The problem, though, is that they might as well be written in a foreign language.

Understanding the FAR is among the most essential tips for becoming a successful federal contractor. In this presentation, government contracts attorney Matthew Schoonover will introduce you to the FAR, including some key provisions and tips for maintaining compliance with its requirements.
