Each year the International Day of Peace is observed around the world on September 21. The UN General Assembly has declared this as a day devoted to strengthening the ideals of peace, through observing 24 hours of non-violence and cease-fire.

This year, it has been clearer than ever that we are not each other's enemies. Rather, our common enemy is a tireless virus that threatens our health, security and very way of life. COVID-19 has thrown the world into turmoil and forcibly reminded us that what happens in one part of the planet can impact people everywhere.

Fittingly, the theme for 2020 is "Shaping Peace Together." Celebrate the day by spreading compassion, kindness and hope in the face of the pandemic. Stand together with the UN against attempts to use the virus to promote discrimination or hatred.

As we struggle to defeat COVID-19, your voice is more important than ever. In these difficult times of physical distancing, this International Day of Peace will be dedicated to fostering dialogue and collecting ideas. The world will be invited to unite and share thoughts on how to weather this storm, heal our planet and change it for the better. Even though we may not be able to stand next to each other, we can still dream together.

Norwalk Public Library is pleased to welcome professional organizer Ronni Eisenberg, who will present parts three and four of her Organization and Time Management series.

Ronni Eisenberg is a pioneer in the field of organization, and author of 10 books on getting organized, including Organize Yourself, which has sold more than 1 million copies. For over 40 years, she's helped millions of people with some of life's most overwhelming tasks, from how to find balance in their lives and manage the daily stressors that consume their time, to teaching them how to make the important choices that will add quality and well-being to their lives.

Ronni's focus now is to share her knowledge with others through her blog, The Organizing Confessions, www.blog.ronnieisenberg.com. She hopes that her experience can provide important insights and teach people lifelong organizational skills and solutions.

John Root: In addition to his work as a landscaper, John leads edible wild plant walks, and lectures on a variety of landscape and nature topics. He also promotes pollinator habitat through his participation in the Western Massachusetts Pollinator Network, and is active in establishing community orchards for local food resilience as a member of Grow Food Amherst and Help Yourself Northampton. John is a member of the Ecological Landscapers Association and is an accredited Organic Landscape Professional through the Northeast Organic Farming Association.
