St. Guido Conforti not only nurtures a very high concept of the missionary vocation, but also a very high and bold ideal of family spirit. Indeed, he knows that the missionary call is incomplete if it does not lead to being and becoming “companions of vocation”. It is through fraternal relationships that we learn to welcome the others as gifts from God, accepting their riches, differences and limits.

The Holy Father has appointed as bishop of the diocese of Padang, Indonesia, the Reverend Fr. Vitus Rubianto Solichin SX, member of the Pious Society of Saint Francis Xavier for the Foreign Missions (Xaverians), until now lecturer in the major seminary and rector of the School of Philosophy, Jakarta. Registration is NO LONGER REQUIRED for Mass. Space will be provided for those who who feel the need to wear a mask and social distance for a period of time beyond May 29, 2021.

I am Yudis, originally from Indonesia, where more than 80% of the population are Muslims, especially on my island of Java. Personally, I see Islamic-Christian dialogue as a gift from God.

Thank God, I grew up in a family and in an environment where Muslims and Christians live together in peace. My dad was a Muslim; he was baptized when he was young, but the vast majority of his family are still Muslims (his brothers and cousins). I had a good relationship with Muslims especially in my dad’s big family. My Muslim cousin lived in our family for 6 years because of school. Learn more.
