St. Guido Conforti not only nurtures a very high concept of the missionary vocation, but also a very high and bold ideal of family spirit. Indeed, he knows that the missionary call is incomplete if it does not lead to being and becoming “companions of vocation”. It is through fraternal relationships that we learn to welcome the others as gifts from God, accepting their riches, differences and limits.

Mission Blog: Dialogue of Life and Faith
I am Yudis, originally from Indonesia, where more than 80% of the population are Muslims, especially on my island of Java. Personally, I see Islamic-Christian dialogue as a gift from God.

Thank God, I grew up in a family and in an environment where Muslims and Christians live together in peace. My dad was a Muslim; he was baptized when he was young, but the vast majority of his family are still Muslims (his brothers and cousins). I had a good relationship with Muslims especially in my dad’s big family. My Muslim cousin lived in our family for 6 years because of school. Learn more.

Discern vocation with toddlers, teens, and everyone in between

Pope Francis, in his 2019 post-synodal apostolic exhortation Christus Vivit (Christ is Alive), describes the journey of discovering one’s vocation as being invited on an adventure. Vocations are not just a part of life; they are how we live out love throughout life. The adventure begins the moment we are born. As parents, teachers, lay ministers, and clergy, we must help our children and those in our care find their path, but the map isn’t marked and the route is never the same. Learn more.
Fourth of July Thoughts from Sister Joan Chittister, OSB
"There are two concepts in US history that deserve to be revisited if the Fourth of July is to have any meaning at all for the next century. The first is “patriotism.” The second is “jingoism.” They are not synonyms, much as we are sometimes inclined to make them so. Patriotism is love of country, literally—the “father” land. Jingoism is chauvinism, a love of country that lacks a critical eye. When we “love” something to such a degree that we lose the capacity to compare it to its own best potential, we don’t really “love” it at all. We idolize it..." Read more.
