Dear CSD Parents and Families,
December is always an exciting time in any school district. Winter sports are in full swing, numerous musical events are occurring, the potential of a "snow day" is in the air, and the holiday break is on everyone's mind! It's hard to believe that 2022 is coming to a close, and we will soon be writing 2023 on our checks - for those of you (including me) who still write checks. :)
From my perspective, we have had a phenomenal start to the 2022-23 school year. I have thoroughly enjoyed becoming a part of the Cedarburg community and have witnessed numerous examples of what makes the Cedarburg school community so great. Two that I would like to highlight are the most recent Wisconsin State Report Card for the Cedarburg School District and the significant donations made to the district each year.
As was celebrated in last month's newsletter, we received another exemplary school report card from the State of Wisconsin. The 2021-22 Report Card recognized the Cedarburg School District and all schools as "Significantly Exceeds Expectations." This is the district's second consecutive year, and all five schools earned that rating. This is a true testament to the hard work and dedication of teachers, staff, students, and families. Way to go, Cedarburg!
I am also overwhelmed by the community's generosity to the Cedarburg School District. As of the November school board meeting, $229,048 have been donated to the district this school year. This amount does not include the funds donated to the Cedarburg Education Foundation through the most recent Gala. All these donations have been and will be used to provide classroom supplies, new classroom technology, a new baseball and softball turf infield, and a media studio at the high school to name a few of the projects. Thank you, Cedarburg!
Even with all of the support, I would like to make sure you know about an area where the district can still use your support. If you are not aware, it has been challenging to find substitute teachers over the last couple of years, which is still the case this year. On days when we do not have sufficient substitutes, the district does get creative so that student learning continues. Some strategies we use are placing administrators and non-classroom teachers in classrooms and combining classes. I bring this to your attention in case any of you have ever been interested in being a substitute teacher. This is the time to jump in! You can call (262) 376-6108 or follow this link to find out what you need to become a Cedarburg School District substitute.
Wishing you all a happy holiday season,
Dr. Jeridon Clark, Superintendent

CHS Distinguished Alumni Nominations
|
|
The strengthening of a network of alumni accelerates opportunities to enhance the collective impact on our entire Cedarburg School District family. In recognizing an alumnus or alumna each year, we establish a tradition that honors CHS graduates who have gone on to distinguished careers and service in various fields making major contributions; achieving noteworthy accomplishments that separate themselves from others. The Cedarburg School District is proud to honor the graduates of CHS and is now open to accepting nominations for the 2023 Distinguished Alumni Award.

A great source of pride for our students each year is the gift of giving, making a difference in the lives of children just like them. Sponsored by Kapco each year is the kids2kidstoydrive.com. Over the last couple of weeks, each CSD school had been collecting toys. The toy drive is a great way to help a child in need and teach our kids the meaning of generosity and kindness this holiday season.
