Sherry stated this about the honor, "I am blown away by being considered in the company of the previous Athena Award winners. I have been nominating remarkable women in our community for this award since its inception and now to be a recipient is unbelievable. So many of these award recipients have provided their talent and treasure to the work we do across the OneKC for Women alliance. Their involvement and leadership has contributed to the success of our organizations.
