Sherry Turner named KC Chamber 2021 ATHENA Award winner
The ATHENA Leadership Award is one of the most prestigious honors for women’s leadership in our community. It is presented to a woman (or man) who stands out in professional excellence, community service, and actively assists women in their attainment of professional excellence and leadership skills.
It takes a great team for a leader to be recognized for leadership.
Congratulations to OneKC for Women Founder, Sherry Turner, on your KC Chamber 2021 ATHENA Leadership Award! The staff of the OneKC for Women alliance partners are proud to call you our leader.

Turner joins the ranks of two decades of women in leadership who have made an impact in the lives of women in the Kansas City metro area. Sherry stated this about the honor, "I am blown away by being considered in the company of the previous Athena Award winners. I have been nominating remarkable women in our community for this award since its inception and now to be a recipient is unbelievable. So many of these award recipients have provided their talent and treasure to the work we do across the OneKC for Women alliance. Their involvement and leadership has contributed to the success of our organizations.
