St. Peter Weekly News!

Principal's Message:

Dear St. Peter Family,

We have started our Lenten journey and will spend the next several weeks focusing on ways we can honor the ultimate sacrifice that Jesus made for each one of us. Students were given bracelets this week to remind them to work hard throughout Lent to become better in small ways because when we put all of our small acts together, they become big! At our school Mass on Wednesday, Father Joe spoke of the children in Ukraine. He suggested that we could put our Lenten promises to use and pray for those children and maybe find a way to offer some support. I thought this was a wonderful suggestion, so stay tuned for perhaps an out of uniform opportunity or a collection of some sort that could help these children. I am confident that I speak for not only myself but for the teachers as well when I say that serving our children is such a privilege and that it changes us for the better. I think Father Joe's suggestion of using Lent to reach out in some way to the children in Ukraine would be a great idea for us here, who are so richly blessed.

St. Peter, friend of Jesus,

PRAY FOR US!

Mrs. Kadel

Congratulations, Mrs. Funke!

Bridget Award.jpg

On Monday, Mrs. Funke, our junior high ELA teacher was given a special award by the VFW Post for her years of dedication and support to their annual essay contest. Every 7th and 8th grade student over the past decade has written essays for the VFW expressing their thoughts and beliefs on freedom, patriotism, America, and citizenship. We are very proud of ALL that Mrs. Funke does to make St. Peter School such a great place to learn!

Faith Moment

March: Month of Saint Joseph

The Church traditionally dedicates the month of March to the special veneration of St. Joseph, whose feast day is March 19th. "He was chosen by the eternal Father as the trustworthy guardian and protector of his greatest treasures, namely, his divine Son and Mary, Joseph’s wife," says St. Bernardine of Siena. "He carried out this vocation with complete fidelity until at last God called him, saying ‘Good and faithful servant, enter into the joy of your Lord.’" Due to St. Joseph's leadership of the Holy Family, he has been declared the protector and patron of the universal Catholic Church.
