Important COVID-19 Community Updates
Lake Forest is currently in Phase 4 of the Governor's "Restore Illinois" Plan. View the Phase 4 Guidelines here.

Please remember that face coverings, frequent hand sanitizing and 6-foot physical distancing are still required.

  • Wear a Mask
  • Wash Your Hands
  • Watch Your Distance

If you have noticed you are not following COVID-19 precautions closely, you may be suffering from caution fatigue. This may cause you to have lower motivation to social distance and increase your risk of getting COVID-19. There are ways to combat caution fatigue.

  • Take care of your physical and mental health.
  • Reframe risks and benefits.
  • Rebuild your routine.
  • Make altruism a habit.
  • Switch up your media diet.

New Rules for Masks in Restaurants

Beginning this week, people visiting bars and restaurants in Illinois are required to wear face coverings during all of their interactions with staff, regardless of whether they are sitting indoors or outdoors. The new guidelines were issued based on a recent increase in the number of cases statewide.

All restaurant and bar patrons must wear face coverings over their noses and mouths when interacting with restaurant employees, including:
  • placing orders
  • picking-up carryout orders
  • when food and beverages are brought to the table or removed

Mortgage Relief

The Illinois Housing Development Authority is accepting applications through Sept. 4 from homeowners affected by the coronavirus pandemic.

It’s important to reach out to your mortgage servicer on a regular basis about your situation. Only one application per household is allowed and an application is not a guarantee of assistance.

If you are approved, you will receive a grant of up to $15,000 that will be sent to your servicer to be applied against your mortgage. You may receive less than $15,000.

You may see the details of the program, if you are eligible, and how to apply here.
