We've gathered information from a variety of our partners on the programs, training and education they offer.
PROGRAMS & RESOURCES
COLLEGE BOUND OPPORTUNITY SCHOLARSHIPS
First deadline July 31
Last year, Michigan students from the class of 2020 earned over $130,000 through the College Board Opportunity Scholarships by taking steps to plan for college.

Students who complete steps in the program are eligible for scholarships ranging from $500 to $40,000. The scholarships do not require an essay, application, minimum test score, or minimum grade point average. The more effort that students make, the more chances they have to earn scholarships!

During this time, every junior in the class of 2021 can stay on track by taking these three actions this summer:

  • Sign up for the College Board Opportunity Scholarships at: cb.org/opportunity
  • Explore colleges and build a starter college list on BigFuture
  • Practice for six or more hours with official SAT practice on Khan Academy
  • This step is important since the class of 2021 will be taking the SAT in the fall as part of the Governor’s Executive Order
#DOUBLEPELL ACTION ALERT
Week of July 20-24
Restore the Purchasing Power of the Pell Grant: #DoublePell
The Pell Grant has served as the cornerstone of financial aid for low-income students pursuing higher education since its creation in 1972.

Unfortunately, the purchasing power of the Pell Grant has continuously declined since the mid-1970s.

Visit  NCAN's Action Center  for the official #DoublePell campaign advocacy tool. Through the Action Center, you can send a pre-written email and/or tweet to your members of Congress asking for their support in the campaign to #DoublePell.
