Make a SPLASH at the POOL on June 20!
The Pool at the Grindley Aquatic & Wellness Campus opens Saturday, June 20 with new procedures, online reservations and safety protocols in place.
Open Swim Procedures
  • To use the pool, guests must make a reservation online for a 2-hour timeslot.
  • Each timeslot is available for reservation 24 hours in advance. Once the timeslot starts, reservations for that timeslot close.
  • Reservations are made through ActiveNet, the same system used for Rhein Center class registration. Guests must create a login and password or use the same login and password used to register for Rhein Center classes. Please note that Open Swim reservations will not be visible through the Rhein Center class catalog; they will only be visible from the online reservations page.
  • Only 60 guests permitted per timeslot.
  • Guests are encouraged to arrive at the pool 10 minutes prior to swim timeslot. While waiting at check-in, please practice safe social distancing.
  • Guests must present their Lakeside Chautauqua Pass (Season or Daily Pass) at check-in.
  • Chairs and tables are available for use but cannot be moved as they are placed 6 feet apart for social distancing.
  • It is up to swimmers to maintain social distancing while in the water; not the lifeguards or pool staff.
  • Children age 12 & under must be accompanied by a parent or guardian that remains with them to use the pool.
  • All guests are required to leave once the 2-hour timeslot expires for sanitation of the facility. Exit near the Wellness Center.
  • Please note that the slides, water features and in-water volleyball and basketball are closed this summer.
  • There will be no Swim Lessons this summer.
  • Initially, there will be no Water Aerobics classes, but these may be added if timeslots and instructors can be arranged.

  • Select 'Pool 2-Hour Swim Reservations.' Choose your 2-hour timeslot and 'Add to Cart.'
  • One person from each group may reserve up to 10 spaces for their group.
  • Please be mindful and considerate of your time spent at the pool. Limit your family's reservation to 2-3 times per week and check back to see if there are last minute openings.
  • Guests are encouraged to arrive at the pool 10 minutes prior to swim timeslot. While waiting at check-in, please practice safe social distancing.

  • Monday-Saturday: 10 a.m.-12 p.m., 12:30-2:30 p.m. and 3-5 p.m.
  • Sunday: 12-2 p.m. and 2:30-4:30 p.m.
Lap Swim Procedures
  • For lap swim, guests must make a reservation online for a 30-minute timeslot. 
  • Morning reservations begin at 7 a.m. the day prior to reservation; open for 24 hours. Evening reservations begin at 4:30 p.m. the day prior to reservation; open for 24 hours.
  • Reservations are made through ActiveNet, the same system used for Rhein Center class registration. Guests must create a login and password or use the same login and password used to register for Rhein Center classes. Please note that Lap Swim reservations will not be visible through the Rhein Center class catalog; they will only be visible from the online reservations page.
  • Only 1 person per lane.
  • Guests must present their Lakeside Chautauqua Pass (Season or Daily Pass) at check-in.
  • Chairs and tables are available for use but cannot be moved as they are placed 6 feet apart for safe social distancing.

  • Must be age 14+ for lap swim.

  • Select 'Lap Swim 30-Minute Reservations.' Choose your 30-minute timeslot and 'Add to Cart" then checkout.
  • Guests must present their Lakeside Chautauqua Pass (Season or Daily Pass) at check-in.
Lap Swim Hours of Operation
  • Monday-Saturday: 7:30-8 a.m., 8-8:30 a.m., 8:30-9 a.m., 9-9:30 a.m., 5:30-6 p.m. and 6-6:30 p.m.
  • Sunday: 5-5:30 p.m. and 5:30-6 p.m.
Are the Baby Pool & Splash Park open?
The Baby Pool and Splash Park remain closed at this time. The high lake water and storm debris, as well as the State of Ohio regulations are making it difficult to open these venues at this time. We will revisit this decision as the summer progresses.
