Feature Story: Five local bars and restaurants worth visiting
|
For a small town, Rock Hall, Maryland offers a wide variety of dining options, ranging from locally-sourced seafood to dishes with international flare.
Although we are positive most of our readers have visited these local bars and restaurants on one or more occasions, we found it fitting to give brief recommendations of our top five favorites for dining, drinking and entertainment, in addition to a few honorable mentions.
-
Passages Bar & Grill, located at Haven Harbour Marina, is a quaint waterfront grill with friendly staff and a delicious menu. Take in views of Swan Creek from one of the many outdoor decks while your furry friends delight in menu options made just for dogs. Local tip: Seating and bar space is tight, so beat the crowds by dining early.
-
Waterman's Crab House on Rock Hall Harbor is an area staple, offering patrons large servings of locally-sourced seafood and other tasty eats. With it's centralized location, Waterman's is your best bet to experience Rock Hall's timeless waterfront from its spacious deck and indoor dining areas. Local tip: If traveling by boat, dock in one of Waterman's floating slips located right off their dining deck.
-
Harbor Shack, also on Rock Hall Harbor, is a large waterfront bar and restaurant with fresh seafood and Mexican-inspired offerings. Mingle with locals and tourists in a laid-back, cut loose environment. Local tip: Quench your thirst with one of their many flavorful cocktails, mixed drinks and frozen treats.
-
Bay Wolf Restaurant, near the intersection of Main Street and Rock Hall Avenue, offers up German- and Austrian-inspired cuisine fit for the largest of appetites. Local tip: If in town on Wednesdays, stop in for their weekly Oyster Night, you will not be disappointed.
-
Anchor & Plow, next door to Bayside Foods, is a family-run restaurant serving traditional American plates, like their Baby Beef Chessestake, in addition to marvelous desserts. Local tip: Grab a wholesome lunch inside or to-go before an afternoon of fun and adventure on the town.
