Welcome Reon Roski to the
Board of Directors
We are honored to have Reon join the Operation Walk Board. She will be an asset to our new leadership.

About her background:

Reon Roski joined Majestic Realty Co. in March 2007 as Senior Counsel. She was named Managing Director in September 2007. A member of Majestic’s Board of Directors since 1997, she is the granddaughter of the company’s late founder, Edward P. Roski Sr., and daughter of its current Chairman and CEO, Edward P. Roski Jr. and the late Gayle Garner Roski, a long time Operation Walk supporter.

A graduate of the University of Southern California and Loyola Law School, she completed extensive studies abroad, including graduate school in China. Fluent in Mandarin, Reon worked for the Chinese government with respect to real estate matters.

Reon was named one of the “Women at the Top” by Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW) and Bisnow’s LA Power Women. She is a member of YPO, a member of the Board of Leaders for the USC Marshall School of Business, and a member of the Leadership Council on the Board of Directors of the Lusk Center for Real Estate at USC. She is a member of the Board of Directors for the California Science Center, Chair for the California Science Center Committee, and a member of the Board of Directors at Loyola High School.

All of us at Operation Walk Los Angeles feel extremely lucky to have Reon join our Board of Directors.

Eduardo's Story
In the fall of 2018, we had the privilege of meeting Eduardo Mendoza. At the time, he was 37 and working as a computer engineer. He walked into our patient screening with a pronounced limp. Eduardo had a 1" difference in the length of his legs, requiring him to wear a lift in his shoe. Although the lift helped, it was still difficult to walk and at the end of the day, he struggled to keep up with his colleagues and work duties.

Eduardo was cleared by our team during clinic and the next morning received a double hip replacementgiving his legs equal length on both sides. With his mother, sisters, and fiancé cheering him on, he began physical therapy the following day. His muscle memory was skewed, after years of one leg making up for the other, but after several rounds of rehabilitation with our therapists, he began retraining his gait.

This past week, during Throwback Thursday on our social media pages, we featured a short video of Eduardo using crutches for the first time after his surgeries. He had drawn quite a crowd and everyone cheered as he made his way down the hall.

We were excited to hear from both Eduardo and his sister Maria after sharing the video. We are happy to report that he remains free from pain and has completely regained his mobility. Below is the reaction each had to seeing this important moment.

“Thank you OPERATION WALK, your team of generous humans changed the life of my family. Thank you for your wonderful work and for the human charity that each one of your members has. You really are ANGELS. Your volunteers don't just donate their time and talent; they share a great vocation for service and the ability to love others. We love you!”

“Gracias, Gracias, Gracias a todos!”

Guatemala OR Renovation
We received a sneak peek of the OR renovation project from our friends Hospital Obras del Santo Hermano Pedro. Many Operation Walk teams, among other charity organizations, contributed to this valuable project. We want to commend the staff at Hospital Obras del Santo Hermano Pedro for their work coordinating this renovation. This project will tremendously benefit the community and will ensure that even more patients receive the surgical procedures they need in Guatemala.
"We were on our pre-trip this weekend, and these pictures don’t do it justice! It is amazing! All the Operation Walk teams will have an amazing experience with all the upgrades. Antigua was well-organized to begin with, and this only adds to the desire to help!"
