Sept 15 Member Update
Dear Valued YMCA Member,

We are so grateful to see many of you back in our building. We have really missed you and the energy that you bring to each other and our team!

Many of you have shared your gratitude with us and we continue to welcome your feedback as we all learn this new way of operating together.

If you haven't visited our Y yet and you would like to set up a tour to see how we've set everything up to keep you safe, please reply to this email and I will be happy to connect with you.

For now, we want to continue to keep you updated on things happening at our Y:
October - Some Details With More Coming Soon
As we get closer to October, we are continuing to adjust our programming to offer you more options while keeping safety as our top priority. There's more to come soon and here is what we know right now:

Children's Programs

  • All programs will require registration ahead of time
  • Programs will be limited by capacity to allow for safe distancing
  • Toys and equipment will be cleaned frequently
  • Children and staff will wear masks unless engaged in a physical activity
  • All sports will focus on skills and drills with no game play
  • More details coming on Sept 23rd

Swimming Lessons

  • All families will have to re-register for the upcoming session
  • Class sizes have been adjusted to allow for physical distancing
  • Instructors will teach in the pool from six feet away or from the pool deck
  • Children 0-5 years old and in Otter and Seal levels will need a parent or caregiver participating with them, to support the child
  • Registration for the fall session will begin on Oct 5th. The fall session will run from the week of Oct 19th to the week of Dec 14th. The winter session will require a new registration.
  • More details coming on Sept 23rd

Changerooms

  • We will be opening all changerooms on Oct 5th and will encourage social distancing for all members
  • In order to reduce the number of people using the changerooms, we encourage members to continue to come in dressed for activity
  • For Plus Members - hot tubs will be operational, we will not be offering towel service, and our saunas and steam rooms are legally not allowed to be open at the moment for safety reasons
GameTime - Our Online Registration Platform
  • To provide a safe experience, we have set up many of our programs as registered programs through GameTime.
  • For programs or areas that are non-registered, such as our fitness centre and some rec sports, we will do our best to manage capacity safely.
  • As we reopen, if we learn that we need to shift some non-registered programs to make them registered programs, we're fully prepared to make that decision.
Have You Had Your Picture Taken?
The next time you visit us, we might ask you to have your picture taken and offer you a new access key fob as part of our process of upgrading to a new business system.
Reminder: Membership Hold Request
If you have already requested a hold on your membership, thank you for letting us know. You do not need to complete this form again.

If you're not quite ready to return to the Y, we completely understand and want to provide you with some simple options to continue to keep your membership on hold.

While you stay on hold, you will not be charged any membership fees.

Please complete the form below by Sept 20th at Midnight, to extend your hold.
Reopening our Y continues to be a learning experience for all of us and we're excited to go through it with you.

You are why we're here for good.

Stay well and see you soon,

Hayley Mott
