I
n our school district, we have long abided by the motto “whatever it takes,” particularly when it comes to confronting our most difficult issues. These past few weeks have been difficult for our country. Many people are hurting. Many of the people hurting are living among us – our students, our neighbors, our teachers, our friends, ourselves. We are living through a “whatever it takes” moment and we will continue to work to fulfill our mission to embrace and attend to the needs of our students regardless of the obstacles.
As a school district entrusted with the tremendous responsibility of caring for and educating our community’s youngest members, we must reaffirm that we will not waver in doing what is right.
We are intensely proud to be a school district comprised of students from many races, ethnicities, gender identities, and beliefs. But we can only claim that pride if our students of diverse backgrounds feel welcomed and cherished.
