American Legion Oratorical Competition - grades 9-12
It is that time of year again when high school students can compete in American Legion's oratorical competition. The Assigned Topics and official rules can be found online here. Our local contest, sponsored by the American Legion Post 10 will be held on Tuesday, November 29 in the Upper School Library. However, eligible students must submit a statement to Mrs. Woods in person or in writing if they intend to participate by November 17. Please see the email sent on Thursday afternoon for more detailed information about the contest.
PSAT/NMSQT Results Timeline
Texas students who took the PSAT/NMSQT in October will receive their scores on December 6; however, College Board no longer sends paper copies of the reports. Students will need to log-in to their College Board account in order to view detailed score report. College Counseling will send more detailed instructions that week before score release.
Local & Regional College Visit Days
Colleges often host special events and campus visit days for prospective students. We have compiled a list of local and other fall semester visit days on this document. If you know of others, please send them to collegecounseling@greatheartsnorthernoaks.org.
Reminder to Juniors and Seniors! If you are absent from school due to college visit(s) you must provide this form to Mrs. Thompson upon your return in order to obtain an excused absence. TEA allows two excused absences per year to 11th and 12th grade students.
