All are welcome!
Sunday Offerings : May 9, 2021
We do not experience a world and afterward make up stories to understand it. Stories teach us what is real, what is true, and what is possible.

Mothering Mothers
Live on Zoom with
Linda Whyte Burrell

What does it mean to be "mothering mothers?" What is it? Who does it and why?

Celebrating Mothers!

Today I tell some stories about my mom. And I invite you to share about your mom/caregiver too. I hope to hear some of your stories!

Spiritual Enrichment
May's theme is Story
"What's Your Sentence?"
We invite you to write a sentence that describes the essence of your life. Just one sentence!
Then bring your sentence to our May 16th service to share!

Check out this Google Doc for May. We've compiled spiritual exercises, videos, music, movie, and book suggestions for our theme of Story.
One Sentence Project, presented by its founder, Daniel Pink (4mins)
Let's Record Our Stories
Join us on Zoom for a two part conversation
Tuesdays, May 11th and 18th at 7pm
we've added *May 14th at 1pm* for any who cannot make it Tuesdays

Our congregational history is so important and we want to record it! We invite you to join us on a Zoom call to swap stories! On May 11th, we would love to record stories of the history of this congregation: where we've been, who's been part of it, funny situations, moving moments. May 18th will be to record personal stories about important turning points that changed the course of our lives.
We look forward to cozy evenings of sharing memories.

One Story Leads to Another
From Elizabeth Donovan...
Since I have been writing the Our Stories column for eleven months now, it is probably no surprise that I like stories—particularly everyone’s personal stories. I am delighted that this month’s Spiritual Enrichment theme is Story and I was happy this past Sunday to be put in a Breakout Room at Zoom coffee hour with the suggestion that we share our stories. With my cohort’s permission I share what we talked about HERE.

Please contact me to tell your biographical story!
UUCSC Board News
The UUCSC Board of Directors plans a soft reopening, accepts a report from the virtual auction fundraiser, and hears Rev. DL's proposal for reducing his time for the next two years. Read the details in the April Board Minutes.

The Board is meeting virtually on the third Wednesday of every month from 7:00 to 9:00 PM. Congregants are welcome to attend. Contact the president, Natalie Herbermann at nherbermann@hotmail.com for link.
UUCSC Needs You!
From the Nominations Committee...
As we cautiously emerge from our Covid cocoons and look to reconvening in our sanctuary (info to be announced soon), we look at the world with a new awareness of what is really important to each of us. The Nominating Committee is hoping that you—yes, this is directed to YOU—will consider stepping up to serve on or chair a committee or help with some small task. The commitment does not have to be large but some UUCSC members who have given a lot of time in recent years need to step back a little bit. To talk about what might be a good fit for you, please contact anyone on the committee: Elizabeth Donovan, Linda White Burrell or Gail Burchard.

We hope that you will join us on ZOOM!

an in-person outdoor breakfast.
