DCP REMOTE OPEN HOUSE INVITING COMMUNITY INPUT
Bronx Metro-North Penn Station access project
On April 30, 2021, the NYC Department of City Planning issued a PRESS RELEASE announcing the publication of a OPEN HOUSE WEBPAGE to advance planning around four Bronx Metro-North stations. The website includes explanatory videos, interactive engagement tools and planning recommendations – regarding planning of four new Metro-North stations coming to the East Bronx, to Hunts Point, Parkchester/Van Nest, Morris Park and Co-op City.
Community input is currently invited through the Remote Open House for the Morris Park and Parkchester/Van Nest stations.
Metro-North service for East Bronx, MTA Penn Station Access Project
  • Metro-North service is being planned for the East Bronx. It will bring four new stations to the borough: Hunts Point, Parkchester/Van Nest, Morris Park and Co-Op City. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity that will dramatically increase access to the Bronx, the City and the region.
  • The new stations are part of the MTA's Penn Station Access project, which will connect the East Bronx directly to Manhattan Penn Station, and to Westchester and Connecticut to the north. While the MTA will build the stations and deliver train service, the NYC Department of City Planning and the local communities are working to ensure the stations bring maximum benefits to the Bronx.
Community members are invited to provide input in the planning process until June 2021 for the Morris Park station HERE, and for the Parkchester/Van Nest station HERE. More information is provided below, compiled from the NYC Department of City Planning website here.
