COVID Update | CourseKey Questionnaire
Please remember that if you are coming to campus, you are to complete the CourseKey health questionnaire prior to entering campus buildings.

CourseKey is an application that can be downloaded to your smart phone or lap top. If you are a new employee, it may take one week before you are uploaded to CourseKey. If you don’t have access to CourseKey, please make sure to complete the Request to Access Campus Procedure & Form available at http://www.solano.edu/hr/forms.php.

For those who receive a “red pass” after completing the CourseKey health questionnaire, you will be contacted by someone from HR who will ask a number of questions.  Do not enter a campus building unless you have a “green pass” or have been cleared by HR. If you receive a “red pass” and are not contacted by HR, do not enter the building and contact your supervisor. Someone from HR will contact you within 72 hours. Masks are required when inside buildings regardless of vaccination status or your responses to the health questionnaire.
Coronavirus Student Survey Results
In June 2021, we surveyed students who were enrolled in the college in Fall 2020, Spring 2021, Summer 2021, or Fall 2021 to get their impressions and feedback about a range of topics, including COVID-19. You can see the results of the survey by clicking here.
Accreditation Visit Training
On September 17 from 1:00-4:00pm, the ACCJC will be hosting a virtual training to help us prepare for our next site visit. If you are interested in helping the college prepare its next self-evaluation report, please contact David Williams, Accreditation Liaison Officer, at David.williams@solano.edu to be added to the training. Accreditation is a very important process for the college, and some participants are eligible for reassigned time.
SCC Helps Launch Biologics Organization
Solano College helped launch the National Institute for Innovation in the Manufacturing of Biologics (NIIMBL) organization five years ago by organizing letters of support for the grant proposal from all of the community and technical colleges in the United States that had biotech programs.  The mission of this Manufacturing USA center is to maintain US dominance in pharmaceutical biomanufacturing.  We have worked closely with them on their Workforce Committee and have been awarded a part of three different grants from them.  During this last year, on these grants and other grant proposals, we collaborated with the International Academy of Automation Engineers, Delaware State University, North Carolina State University, Georgia and Georgia State, Washington State University, the University of Maryland, Worchester Polytechnical University, and Rensselear Polytechnic University.

SCC wrote and received a grant to develop curriculum for the emerging fields of cell and gene therapy.  On this grant we work closely with Montgomery County Community College (PA), Forsyth Technical Community College (NC), Quincy College (MA), MiraCosta College (CA), and Shoreline College (WA); we have a two decade relationship with each of these colleges.

At the NIIMBL National meeting in July, U.S. Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo announced that NIIMBL was being renewed and received $152 million funding for the next five years.  SCC's Jim DeKloe was invited to give a talk at the national annual meeting.

Solano College also helped organize letters of support for the grant proposal from community and technical for the Bioindustrial Manufacturing and Design Ecosystem, BioMADE, the newest of the Manufacturing USA centers.  The $274 million BioMADE project covers non-pharmaceutical industrial biomanufacturing and we were part of the launch in April 2021.

Dock of Bay Music Festival
We found a great venue for SCC Alumni to gather! We created a partnership with the Mare Island Dock Of Bay Music Festival so we could meet you on Saturday, September 18th from 1:00 to 9:00 p.m. SCC Alumni have a discounted price for general admission tickets. If you're able to attend, we'd like to take a group photo at 5:00 p.m. at the SCC Alumni tent at the concert.

The concert location is right in front of the Mare Island Brewing Company along the dock of the Mare Island Straight. You'll enjoy great music outside with a cool breeze off the bay. The SCC Alumni Association will be hanging out all day, so stop by and say hello at our tent.

General admission tickets are $75, but just $65 with the exclusive SCC Alumni Promo Code below. We believe this concert will grow to become an annual event that SCC Alumni and concert goers will not want to miss.
