Applications Open for Entrepreneurs

The Louisville Healthcare CEO Council  requests proposals for innovations that enable and promote a systems-level approach to addressing barriers related to social determinants of health for older adults and innovations that address those barriers for older adults in Black, Minority, and Ethnic communities. LHCC is especially interested in those technologies that address social isolation and loneliness, but other SDoH-related, systems-enabling solutions will also be considered. You can find our short application (via the F6S platform) here . Alternatively, you may submit your company’s executive summary to info@LHCCinc.com. The deadline to apply is July 28th, 2020.
SustainableCincy: A New Pre-Accelerator

Flywheel Social Enterprise Hub is partnering with The Kroger Co. Zero Hunger | Zero Waste Foundation, Cintrifuse, and HCDC to launch SustainableCincy, a virtual six-week pre-accelerator program designed to help early-stage businesses advance innovative solutions in the sustainability space.
SustainableCincy’s inaugural cohort will be selected this fall, offering up to eight startups the opportunity to receive one-on-one coaching to catalyze their business model, develop a path to scale, and identify funding strategies. The virtual program will culminate in a pitch competition for non-dilutive funding to further accelerate the participants’ solutions.
Now through August 14, SustainableCincy invites innovators, with a strong preference for organizations led by people of color and women, to apply for the inaugural cohort at www.sustainablecincy.com. Applicants will be evaluated based on their potential impact and alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, including zero hunger, clean water and sanitation, affordable and clean energy, responsible consumption and production, and life below water and on land.

Thoughts offered from a TALK Member Who Recently Had COVID-19...
"COVID hits hard and fast. Be prepared to start tracking your symptoms immediately with this handy log.

Have these things on hand and ready:

  • Thermometers (one for each patient and/or extra on hand for when the battery dies)
  • 1 Oxygen sensor (Amazon carries several models)
  • Pedialyte pops or drink

Once you know you are COVID-19 positive, do not wait to go to the emergency room if you exhibit any loss of oxygen. A simple way to test is to push on your fingernail. The nail will turn white and immediately should go back to normal. If it stays white – for anything longer than a moment, go to the ER. Do this check or use the oxygen sensor every hour.

Let your friends and family help bring things to your house, so you can maintain quarantine."
