Hello,

June is actually jumping here at WORK_SPACE. Our membership has gone up over the past year, many of our past meeting space users are calling to book meetings and events, we are putting the final touches on our Digital Story Studio in time for the July 30th ribbon cutting with the Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce, and we even had a group in our Main Street Gallery who took the opportunity to celebrate the start of summer dancing under our disco ball!

We also have benefited from some great conversations about Juneteenth, learning that it is a day to be both celebrated and commemorated and is not just recognizing the end of slavery, but the continuation of much needed reforms. (Click here to listen to Dr. Dexter Gabriel of UConn discuss the meanings of Juneteenth.) We want to thank all of the more than 20 artists featured in our Juneteenth: The Art of Independence exhibit, which will be open through July 30th. Much of the work can be seen in our virtual gallery on Facebook. Special thanks to Jaii Marc Renee who spent a week in our gallery painting the amazing work in our front window. And future thanks to Joy Monroe and Shawnae Chavies who will be at our 2nd Saturday Open House on July 10th demonstrating the art of body painting.

Interested in learning more about opportunities to participate in and support the Galleries @ WORK_SPACE? Scroll down to see our new membership levels. And if you want to work at WORK_SPACE, not only do we have private offices and dedicated desks available, but we are hiring part-time associates to help us with everything from event planning and office management to exhibit curation and video producing. Click here to apply by June 29th (cover letters appreciated).

Positive word-of-mouth is the best promotion we can ask for so please let people know we are here to support their personal and professional growth...and if we aren't the right fit, we'll do our best to help them to connect with what is.

Please visit us this summer, weekdays from 10a-4p, 2nd Saturdays from 10a-2p and Thursday evenings in July until 8pm.
Warm wishes,
Stacey, Shannon & Michelle

As part of our Juneteenth programming we had a GREAT conversation with Alisa Bowens-Mercado about the passion and purpose required to find success and satisfaction as an entrepreneur. COMMUNITY EVENTS
The Youth Equity Symposium is a weekend-long event for all individuals looking to begin equity-based work or build on their current efforts. Started by community leaders and educators from across the state, all of our Equity Symposiums are presented by EquityCT, the organization that sprang from the first Equity Symposium.

The focus of the day is amplifying youth research, organizing, and activism in order to encourage individual and community growth, regardless of where attendees are in their understanding and advancement of equity. Filled with learning opportunities, thoughtful conversations, and interactivity related to improving equity in Connecticut and throughout New England, the Equity Symposium is not tied to a specific sector or issue area, but rather it is a day broadly focused on the intersectionality of equity and policy.
