PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

This past week we welcomed one of our own Bruce Ackerman, Head of Global Sales at Intellicheck. Bruce spoke to us about identity theft, specifically on state issued ID theft and how underage individuals purchase IDs with the proper age and safeguards like barcodes and securities falsely imbedded in them. It goes to show the importance of business owners to not only visually skim over a driver's license, but actually validate the ID in order to protect ourselves. Bruce mentioned that Hertz Rental loses a car each week to someone with a false ID literally walking into a storefront and being handed the keys because in most cases the clerk didn’t take that extra step. Blindness is not a defense if you become a victim.

This week we welcome Greg McGarity, CEO of the Gator Bowl where he will enlighten us on how important the event is not only for Jacksonville and our surrounding area, but also the colleges involved. Have a great week and Happy Valentine’s Day!

SBMC FAMILY NETWORKING NIGHT

Join us for an SBMC Family Networking Night at the Vystar Veteran's Memorial Arena as the Jacksonville Icemen take on the Greenville Swamp Rabbits on Saturday, March 12^th at 7 pm. Tickets are only $15.00 and you can purchase them here!

ANNUAL WINE RAFFLE

Hooray! Our Annual Wine Raffle is here again! One week remaining, to purchase tickets at the Early-Bird Special of only $15. The price will then go to $20. Ticket prices will be $25 in the month of April! So get your tickets early!

The drawing will be held April 13th for Three lucky winners with a 50%-30%-20% split of wines.

Our goal this year is to get 100 bottles donated & sell 100 tickets!

MEET A MEMBER MEGA EVENT

Don’t miss your chance to be a part of our Meet A Member Mega Event, sponsored by Apollo Packaging and Dumpster Crushr!

Come join us after work and network with fellow SBMC members. This meet a member is different than others because you also get a chance to show off your business! Bring a table and marketing material. All we ask for is a donation of $20.00 to exhibit and $5.00 to attend. All proceeds will go to the Childrens Christmas shopping spree. We will have food and drink and door prizes where everyone's a winner: especially the kids!

This opportunity is free to all members in good standing and gives you the chance to speak about your business, family, interests, or anything else you would like to "spotlight" for five minutes. You can place business cards, flyers, or informational materials on the tables to showcase your business.
