SOMB Adult and Juvenile Standards Update

This is an update regarding the Colorado Sex Offender Management Board’s work on the Standards and Guidelines for the Assessment, Evaluation, Treatment, and Behavioral Monitoring of Adult Sex Offenders and the Assessment, Treatment, and Supervision of Juveniles Who Have Committed Sexual Offenses.

REVIEWS, RATIFICATIONS, OR APPROVALS:

The Board did not review, ratify or approve any changes to the Adult or Juvenile Standards and Guidelines.


The Board did vote on the Sex Offender Surcharge Allocation Spending Recommendations. For more information, please see the handout provided at the Board Meeting or inquire with SOMB staff. 


SOLICITATION FOR PUBLIC COMMENT OR FEEDBACK :

Public comment on proposed revisions to Section 2(Adult Standards): Language, Cultural and Ethnic Considerations were closed on Monday, August 29th. The Adult Standards Revisions Committee has voted to approve the language and will forward it to the Best Practice Committee for Review. Only 1 public comment was received in support of the language. No dissenting public comment was received.  


 

August BOARD MEETING AGENDA ITEMS:

 

All Meetings are scheduled on the public calendar with information on location and virtual joining information. Most meetings have an option to attend virtually and in person. 

ANNOUNCEMENTS, CHANGES, OR IMPORTANT UPDATES:

  • Kim Kline, MH Representative, and SOMB Approved Treatment Provider was appointed as chair by a vote of the Board for a second term.

 

  • SOMB Provider Data Management Reminders
  • All providers are required to enter data regarding evaluations, discharges, and polygraphs.
  • Your username is NOT your email. It is formatted {First. Last} Please contact the staff if you are having trouble logging in.
  • Clinical Supervisors are responsible for ensuring all Associate Level Providers are trained and entering data.
  • Applications will eventually move to an electronic platform through the Provider Data Management System, so please ensure you are familiar with the system.
