Citizens who wish to provide public comment are invited to attend public meetings or can provide comment by dialing in by phone at the published time. To provide dial-in comment, call toll-free 888-475-4499 or 877-853-5257 and enter the Meeting ID 899 4188 8251 and passcode #. Callers will be provided further instruction during the meeting on how to indicate you wish to speak.

Written comments regarding proposed amendments to the Calvert County Comprehensive Plan, adopted August 2019, must be received by Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2022 at 4:30 p.m. to be made part of the record to be discussed on Nov. 2, 2022 at the Calvert County Planning Commission public hearing.


At the public hearing, staff will discuss proposed amendments to the Calvert County Comprehensive Plan, which would reduce or eliminate the future expansions for the Huntingtown, Lusby, Prince Frederick and Solomons town centers.

The Linda L. Kelley Animal Shelter is offering reduced adoption fees now through Nov. 23, 2022. 


Regular adoption qualifications and procedures still apply. Adoption fees cover services that include age-appropriate vaccinations, spay or neuter, microchipping, heartworm testing for dogs and feline leukemia virus and feline immunodeficiency virus testing for cats. Adoption fees are reduced by 50% until Nov. 23:


The Linda L. Kelley Animal Shelter is located at 5055 Hallowing Point Road, in Prince Frederick. Shelter hours are Tuesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.


Early voting is open! Same-day voter registration is available, so beat the Election Day rush and stop in at any of the following locations to ensure your ballot is cast by Thursday, Nov. 3, 2022:
