Chairman Allen West will be resigning on July 11th and the SREC will vote that same day on a new State Chair. Our next call will be on July 9th. One topic sure to be discussed will be the special session starting the day before. Though the Governor said he will be announcing the exact items to be considered at a later time, it is almost certain to include important election integrity legislation that the Democrats left unfinished when they abandoned their jobs at the end of the session. Your involvement in this session is going to be critical and I will work to provide you with tools and information to empower you as a citizen lobbyist! A South Texas woman was arrested by the Texas Attorney General’s Office Wednesday on 26 counts of violating state election laws.

Monica Rene Mendez, 36, of Port Lavaca, was charged with three counts of illegal voting, seven counts of unlawful voter assistance, eight counts of returning marked ballots without consent and eight counts of election fraud, according to jail records.
Biden Weaponizes DOJ To Attack Election Integrity
  • Joe Biden is weaponizing the Department of Justice to attack common sense election integrity laws.
  • Democrats failed in their attempt to sell the partisan federal takeover of our elections, so now they are resorting to desperate measures.
  • For months, Joe Biden, Stacey Abrams, and Democrats have repeatedly cited lies about the Georgia voting law. 
  • For Democrats, this is about power. They have said so themselves.
  • Despite Democrats’ false narrative, the Georgia voting law expands voting opportunities for Georgia voters.
  • The Georgia voting law:
  1. Expands the number of early voting days and hours, including mandating an Early Voting Saturday.
  2. Allows the observation of the tabulation, scanning, and duplication of ballots.
  3. Allows the preprocessing of ballots prior to Election Day.
  4. The Election Night reporting requirements ensure that all ballots must be counted by the end of election night, ensuring voters have results without having to wait days or even weeks. 
  5. The bill provides for reasonable voter ID requirements when applying for and returning absentee ballots. 
  6. Voters can provide their Driver’s License number, last four digits of their Social Security number, or a copy of another acceptable form of identification. Stacey Abrams has flip-flopped her stance on voter ID.
  7. 75% of voters support voter ID laws, including 60% of Democrats and 69% of Black voters. 
  8. The bill prohibits ballot harvesting and protects the security of the ballot.
  9. Anyone other than an immediate family member is prohibited from being in possession of an electors’ ballot. 
  10. Ensures absentee ballot drop boxes are designated prior to advance voting, surveilled by county officials, and locked and opened every day of advance voting for added safety and security. 
  11. Creates transparency by requiring each county to report the number of: absentee ballots issued; the number of absentees returned; the number of absentee rejected; the number of ballots cast during advance voting; number of provisional ballots, number of provisional ballots that have verified or cured and accepted for counting, and the number of provisional ballots that have been rejected.
  12. Prohibits collusive settlements between state officials and Democratic attorneys. 
  13. Increases oversight and ensures competent local election administration.
  • Despite Democrats’ false outrage, the solicitation zone includes the giving of food or water by the proper personnel, not political activists. Election workers are still allowed to provide water and it allows for self-service water stations.
  • The RNC will use every tool and resource to intervene and fight left-wing power grabs and stand up for voter integrity.

Harris Laughs Her Way To The Border 
After 3 months of ignoring the problem, Kamala Harris’ drop-in is not enough to address the growing crisis at the border. Harris still isn’t listening to the Americans who need Biden to reverse course on the policies that created his deadly border crisis. It’s past time the Biden Administration get serious about offering solutions to the problem they created. 
 
What you need to know:
  1. It took Kamala Harris over 90 days after being named border czar to visit the border.
  2. For months, Harris treated the crisis at the border like it is a joke.
  3. Because of the Biden-Harris border crisis and open border policies our communities are less safe.
  4. Numbers show the border crisis has only gotten worse. 
  5. CBP Agents are arresting nearly 6,000 illegal immigrants a day – that’s the highest number in two decades.
  6. Border apprehensions have increased every single month that Biden has been president.
  7. Human traffickers and drug smugglers are taking advantage of the Biden-Harris open border policies.
  8. While Democrats fail to protect the American people, border state Republican governors are stepping up to protect their constituents.

The bottom line:
Even a Democrat congressman from a Texas border district thinks Harris’ trip to the border is nothing more than a “politically safe trip” just to “check the box.” The sector of the border Harris visited is about 800 miles from the epicenter of the crisis. If Biden and Harris want to fix the crisis they created, they should reverse their disastrous policies.

Biden’s Criminal Negligence
 
Last year, as cities across the country were burned and looted, far-left Democrats pushed to “defund the police” who risk their lives to keep us safe. Now, the country is suffering from the disastrous results. Shootings, homicide, carjacking, and many other categories of crime are spiking across the nation. 
 
What you need to know:
  1. During his campaign, Joe Biden said funding should “absolutely” be redirected away from police departments. Members of his Administration agree.
  2. Bowing to pressure from “defund the police” Democrats at the local level, more than 20 major cities reduced their police budgets. The result? More violent crime and communities left in shambles.
  3. American small businesses, families, and communities are experiencing the devastating effects of anti-police rhetoric and police department budget cuts at the hands of Democrat politicians.
  4. Americans living in Democrat-run cities are suffering from historic and devastating spikes in violent crime.
  5. The Democrat elites running their cities into the ground aren’t the people who suffer from their policies. Instead, it’s often the poor and disadvantaged citizens they represent. 
  6. Now, the Biden Administration is trying to shift the blame from their failed policies to guns and the NRA.

The bottom line:
 
The vast majority of Americans oppose defunding the police – even with this surge in crime, the Democrat push to defund the police lives on. It’s clear – for Democrat politicians, it’s your safety last, far-left activists first.
