Dear Colleagues,

Despite the fear and heightened anxieties, we have seen solidarity and compassion through weekly stories of staff going above and beyond to help one another and our patients during these unprecedented times. The Customer Engagement and Development team has genuinely enjoyed compiling and showcasing the numerous stories of resilience, teamwork, and commitment every week. It has been inspiring to witness what you, collectively, have been able to accomplish while continuing to provide compassionate care and hope to our patients.

Over the past three months, the Customer Engagement and Development Team had to rethink the way we work, quickly adopting to new ways of operating while embracing new digital technologies. Each potential roadblock has provided new efficiencies that has heightened our need to utilize digital communication tools. Our team has quickly learned how to navigate video conferencing, connect virtually with referring providers, and modified the way we provide communications. I would like to personally extend my appreciation for the members of my team, Brian Cooley, Victoria Knight, and Reiko O’Brien, for their continued support, diving into re-deployment at the attestation desk without hesitation, quickly shifting to remote work and continuing to support the communication needs of the Department of Radiology including developing and designing the weekly “ Behind the Mask ” pandemic publication.
Behind the Mask ” has been so much more than a Departmental newsletter, it has represented the continued hard work, dedication, and collaboration throughout the COVID-19 crisis. This will be the final edition of “ Behind the Mask ,” but it’s certainly not the end of our communication efforts. Ongoing strategic communications will play an essential role during recovery and reimagining as we work towards a new normal. As we navigate how to virtually connect and communicate with colleagues, our referring providers, and patients, we will continue to spotlight innovation, accept feedback, and communicate change to the Department through multiple digital communication channels. We want to hear from you! If you have any ideas on how we can enhance communications, please provide them here

We have weathered the storm together, and as it begins to pass, we are still standing. We will start to recover and reimagine our new normal and come out of the storm, stronger together.
