Hello from the Vocations Office! As we celebrate the month of May, I personally thank all mothers for the numerous sacrifices they make for their families. Please join me in praying three Hail Marys each day for an increase in vocations and an outpouring of the Holy Spirit on all of our priests. Congratulations to our newly ordained Transitional Deacons, Deacon Greg Alberts, Deacon Brian Geary and Deacon Tom Logue! These fine men were ordained on April 23, 2021. Holy Hour for the candidates for ordination - May 19th @ 6pm - no reservations required Ordination to the priesthood - May 22nd (livestreamed or by invitation) Quo Vadis Days - August 1-4, 2021. A 4-day/3-night camp for men 13-18 years of age. Those attending will have a life changing encounter with Christ while having the time of their life.  School of Spiritual Direction - 3-year program. Pray a Novena for the Ordination Class of 2021 Congratulations to the Ordination Class of 2021! As they await the holy priesthood, let us humbly beg our Lord to fill them with every grace and blessing and provide them with strength and joy as they start their ministry. Sign up through Mundelein Seminary to participate and pray in a nine-day novena for the Ordination Class of 2021. You will receive the novena prayers via email for nine days after you sign up.

Quo Vadis Days

Quo Vadis Days Sunday, August 1 - Wednesday, August 4, 2021 Location: St. Iakovos Retreat Center, Kansasville, WI  Quo Vadis Days are a 4 day/3 night camp sponsored by the Archdiocese of Chicago Vocations Office and in collaboration with the Diocese of Joliet Vocation Office. This unique engaging event is 100% seminarian led. Join in on the 2nd annual Quo Vadis Days and experience dynamic talks, small group discussions, meaningful prayer experience, including Mass, the Liturgy of the Hours, and Eucharistic Adoration, with a dynamic and fun environment; sports, canoeing, capture the flag, camp fires and much more. This retreat is open to all 13 – 18 year old young men that want to learn more about the priesthood. Those attending will have a life changing encounter with Christ while having the time of their life. School of Spiritual Direction

Diocese of Joliet School of Spiritual Direction Through Franciscan University of Steubenville Currently taking applications for September 5 - 19, 2021 We are very excited to announce that applications are now being accepted for a new School of Spiritual Direction program in the Diocese of Joliet in conjunction with Franciscan University beginning September 5-19, 2021.  We invite you to prayerfully consider joining our spiritual direction training program to begin accompanying brothers and sisters in Christ on their own journey with our Lord. A student's spiritual life will be deepened and he/she will be trained to help others encounter Jesus Christ and enter into deeper intimacy with Him. Through class presentations, praying with sacred Scripture, personal prayer, retreats, supervised skills practice, and other formation, students will grow in self-knowledge and knowledge of God. Students will develop tools for journeying with others so they can help directees achieve greater intimacy with God. Online videos from Franciscan University's Catechetical Institute will assist in growing a basic knowledge of theology, philosophy, sacred Scripture, and other disciplines. Students will also receive training in the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius of Loyola.
