NEW: 2021 Proposed Legislation Posted; FAQs Now Available; Voting Delegates

The proposed legislation for 2021 is now available online, as well as Frequently Asked Questions. There are three proposed constitutional amendments and 21 proposed bylaw amendments, potentially affecting a wide range of NAIA regulations. Videos explaining the proposed legislation are available, as well as the opportunity to offer feedback on the legislative forum

Legislation will be voted on at the annual business meeting on May 27, 2021, as part of the 2021 NAIA National Convention. Each NAIA member institution and conference is allowed to name one voting delegate to vote on proposed legislation at the business meeting. Institutions will receive separate communications regarding voting delegates later this week. The voting procedure will be the same as the October national business meeting. Further instructions will follow. 
NEW: National Coordinating Committee Nominees

The NAIA has received three nominations to fill the open, at-large position on the National Coordinating Committee. They include: Ron Pavan (Cumberland University), Kelly Perry (Oklahoma City University) and Natasha Wilson (Central Methodist University). Click here to read the nominee bios. The vote to fill this position will take place at the virtual business meeting on Thursday, May 27.

2021 NAIA Celebration Video

The NAIA wants to celebrate the 2020-21 season with a video tribute to our members. NEW: Keiser Wins Women's Soccer Championship in Overtime
The Seahawks of Keiser University (Fla.) took home their second consecutive women's soccer national championship on May 3 after defeating William Carey (Miss.) 2-1 in overtime play.


NEW: Grand View University Claims Men's Volleyball Championship

Grand View University (Iowa) won its first men's volleyball national title on April 24, defeating Benedictine Mesa - Arizona by a score of 3-0. Both teams headed into the final match undefeated through regular season and tournament play.

NEW: A Five Set Battle Ends in Victory for Missouri Baptist Women's Volleyball

Only three times before in NAIA history had a women's volleyball championship final gone five sets. On May 2, Missouri Baptist increased that number to four with a hard-fought victory over Midland University (Neb.)
Eligibility Center
NEW: Play NAIA Webinar

The NAIA Eligibility Center is hosting a webinar for new members, new campus staff and those wanting a refresher on the EC on Thursday, May 6, 11 a.m. – 12 p.m. (CT). Attendees will learn about PlayNAIA processes and navigating the website including: student registration, how to navigate student eligibility, using the NAIA Registrar Portal, and more. NEW: Final High School Transcripts Required Beginning May 1
 
Students graduating high school in 2021 must have a final high school transcript uploaded through the high school portal, in order to receive an eligibility decision for the fall 2021 term. These students are not required to complete the test score task - an eligibility review will begin once their final high school transcript task has been completed.

NEW: Cancellations Occur June 1
 
On June 1, 2021, cancellations (previously referred to as inactivation) will occur for students with 2020-21 applications who are not yet in line for review. Students whose applications are cancelled and need an eligibility decision in a subsequent term will need to have their NAIA school start a new application on their behalf. Please encourage your student-athletes to complete all active tasks as soon as possible.
