This is part 3 of a series from Texas Methodist Foundation on the Post-Pandemic Church. IN the process of discernment, one of the questions that needs to be asked is “Who is my neighbor?” Historically, we have looked at our neighbor as someone who needs our help. This has turned into ministry to a group instead of ministry with a group. In the future, the church will need to walk beside people.
As we walk beside our neighbors, we receive thyme gifts they have offer. So who is it God is asking us to walk beside?
Sunday is Pentecost. Wear Red as you watch the livestream. It’s an old tradition that you get pinched if you aren’t wearing red on Pentecost or is it, you get pinched if your aren’t wearing green on St. Patrick’s Day?

Spirit of Life, You have bound us together as one body in Christ. Across time and space, we know that nothing can separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord, and nothing can separate us from truly belonging to each other as the church. In the midst of these trying times, renew in us Your wisdom, Your peaceful presence, Your enduring strength. May we seek deeper relationship with You, and connect with each other as the body. May we listen to Your wisdom calling us, and notice anew the ways Your spirit is at work in the world and in each of us. In the name of Christ we pray. Amen.
Living God, you sent the Holy Spirit to breathe life into your church.
Let us no longer be captives to fear, but messengers of your saving love, so that all may be reconciled in you; through Jesus Christ, our peace.

Holy Spirit, fill us up.
Living God, you sent the Holy Spirit to breathe life into your church.
Let us no longer be captives to fear, but messengers of your saving love, so that all may be reconciled in you; through Jesus Christ, our peace.
Give us strength, give us power.
Holy Spirit, fill us up.
Make us one, sisters and brothers.
Holy Spirit, fill us up.
Give us strength to share your truth.
Holy Spirit, fill us up.
Send us out, to live for you. Amen.
