Worship & Music

June 15: Vestry Highlights
In accordance with CDC guidelines, the Vestry voted to revise our COVID guidelines in the nave of the church. We will continue to maintain social distancing (skipping every other pew) in the nave; those who are vaccinated may choose not to wear a mask. Anyone is welcome to continue wearing a mask in the building.

Please remember to be respectful of everyone’s personal decision regarding the wearing of masks inside the church.

Additionally, the Vestry:

  • affirmed that every member will complete Safe Church, the Diocesan misconduct training course.
  • elected Shelli Lord-Pawson as our delegate to the Annual Convention of the Diocese to be held Nov. 11-13, 2021, in Arlington. Nick Sollog was elected as the alternate delegate.

Praise Through Song
Come and join the Summer Choir! Rehearsals are at 7:30 p.m. every other Thursday. The next rehearsal is on July 1. The summer choir leads the hymns and service music at the 10:00 a.m. worship service. Contact Beth Davis to learn more. Previous experience is not required. All are welcome!

Samples from Sunday
This week’s “Samples from Sunday” is “Rhosymedre” by the English composer Ralph Vaughan Williams (1872-1958). It is based on the Welsh hymn tune “Rhosymedre” which is #587 “Our Father, by Whose Name” in the Hymnal 1982. This prelude was performed by Dr. Elizabeth Melcher Davis, Organist, on June 13. Be sure to subscribe to the GHTC YouTube Music Channel to be notified of new videos. We now have over 100 videos posted!
