July 7, 2020

Dear Xavier Community,

As shared previously, work continues in preparation for the 2020-2021 school year. As we collaborate with the Appleton Health Department and the Diocese of Green Bay, we wanted to clearly state our intent to return to in-person classes on Wednesday, August 26.

To ensure the safety and well-being of our students, families, and staff during our return to school, campus specific policies and protocols will be in place for:
  • maintaining social distancing in all learning spaces
  • the wearing of masks and face coverings by staff and students
  • daily screening of students and staff for symptoms of COVID-19
  • cleaning classroom spaces and campus facilities
  • personal hygiene and other preventive measures

In addition, to ensure the effective implementation of these policies and protocols, each campus will designate Orientation Days during the first week of school to educate students about these measures and assist with our transition to the new school year.

Starting next week, principals will begin sharing campus-specific details regarding these safety measures as well plans to maximize teaching, learning, and faith formation in the upcoming school year. As our planning continues over the summer, we commit to communicating and collaborating with our staff and families to ensure effective implementation and accommodations for individual needs. In the meantime, we encourage parents to speak with your student(s) about best practices to limit exposure to the coronavirus and to model appropriate use of masks and social distancing when in public. We believe that parents are the first and most important teachers. With your example and support, we are confident that working together we can navigate these challenging times.

We ask for your continued prayers and support for us, our leadership team as well as our staff and students.

Sincerely Yours in Christ,

Phil Riley
