Epiphany Friends,
Sometimes the pastor needs your prayers…and this is one of those times! You might be aware that Pastor Harv has been undergoing some tests over the past month. Because we covet your prayers, we want to be open with you about his recent test results. Pastor Harv has pancreatic cancer. Although we’re certainly concerned and sad for the news, we also rejoice with Harv and Shawn that, as his doctor puts it, “it’s the good kind of cancer.”

What that means, is that Harv will likely soon be undergoing surgery to remove the tumor on his pancreas. However, his doctor reassures us that there is a high cure rate for this type of cancer. Praise be to God! His cancer is called neuro-endocrine carcinoma and is believed to be the result of a medication he has been on for diabetes.

Here is our need from our Epiphany family: today, Pray for Pastor Harv, and please pray for Shawn, Harv’s spouse, as she navigates this journey with him using her nursing expertise.

Tomorrow, pray again. Pray for the upcoming surgery and treatment plan. Pray it is successful. Pray that Harv and Shawn continue to see where God is in the midst of this journey. Pray for healing.

We are showering Pastor Harv with love. He’s been peace in the storm for so many of us. Now, he needs our prayers, friends. Harv, Shawn, and I believe God has already been paving the way for them and they know God is with them. We are so thankful that Harv actually feels great! So that’s a blessing as he faces surgery.

We believe good will come from this, and trust God. We are grounded in Paul’s words to the church in Rome,

“In all things, God works for the good of those who
love him.” (Rom. 8:28).
May it be so!
Peace and Love,
Pastor Kathy and Pastor Harv
