Welcoming Students Back To Campus!

It's hard to believe that summer is almost over. It's even harder to believe that after 18 months we will have the pleasure of student buzz on campus! We are pleased to announce that, assuming the continued progress of province-wide and continued improvements in public health and health care indicators, we anticipate that all in-person instruction and on-campus activities will be permitted to resume without capacity limits or physical distancing requirements starting in Fall 2021.

Masks and face coverings will still be required for indoor settings and IHN is required to continue following provincial and federal public health and workplace safety requirements. While this is the “current” expectation for Fall 2021, we must remain vigilant and prepared with respect to COVID-19 trends and be aligned with the broader reopening.

IHN will deliver academic instruction in-class while providing a live-stream lecture format option, via Zoom, simultaneously. This hybrid learning delivery model will commence September 2021 and continue until the end of the semester. The in-class option is ideal for those who find being in the physical space more conducive to learning. We anticipate a full in-class delivery model for the January 2022 semester. At IHN, all students who choose to participate in the classroom setting, will be more than welcome.

Academics & AlliesA New Semester Begins!

It was truly remarkable to find out the depth of friendships that developed, in the first year of IHN having a fully online option. We expected an emerging community, but we didn't realize how strong the bonds would be. Our effort to cultivate an engaged student bodywith lifetime connectionswas realized.

Our online diploma program in Applied Holistic Nutrition officially launched in September 2020. Emulating our in-class program, the online space, became a symbol of IHN's ability to overcome adversity with perseverance. We were not alone, of course. From small town classrooms to the world's ivy league spaces, technical crews, faculty and students worked together and brought learning back to life.

Since then, we have had people from around the globe enroll at IHN, empowered to take responsibility for their health or to change careers and become healers for others. We are thrilled to open our doors for a second year to students who have always wanted to see IHN’s curriculum online! This means you can register for our program and experience the high caliber of learning we offer, in the comfort of your home, regardless of where you are. Registrations are filling fast. Our LIVE online program is offered in both Pacific and Eastern time zones. Contact us for a Program Advising appointment and join us!

Ashwagandha Has Powerful Health Benefits

Ashwagandha is not a new kid on the block, but it is becoming a household name in the modern marketplace and an ingredient to watch out for. In a February 13, 2020, Nutritional Outlook article (3 minute read), “Ashwagandha Is Going Mainstream”, we hear from several natural product manufacturers around the globe who are discovering the benefits of this ancient adaptogen, as they invest in clinical research and trials. Dr. Benny Antony, director of an Ashwagandha supply company in India reports, “The growing awareness of the need for a holistic approach to health is lifting the consumer segment up-and ashwagandha along with it.”

The blueberry was one of the first foods to be titled a ‘superfood’. They are one of three fruits native to North America; the others being cranberries and Concord grapes. They are small, round, purple, or blueberries belonging to the Heather family. They are low in calories and fat, mainly made up of carbohydrates and water. Blueberries are a good source of manganese, copper, and vitamins B6, C, E, and K1. They have a sweet flavour, are succulent and nutritious, making them a popular summer treat. We love this fresh Blueberry Mint Chia Seed Pudding by IHN graduate Olivia Szostek.
