Greetings from my home, where nowadays I find myself (ironically) wearing makeup to "work" (applied by my six- year-old) and figuring how to be present for my family, for my Colorado State University and City of Fort Collins community, and the larger global community.
I do not know where this hello finds each of you. Some of you are personally coping with and navigating the global pandemic and racial injustices, while others of you are impacted by your supportive roles. No matter where this finds you, please know the ITGA community is here to bolster you up and help you along the way! Whatever we can do - from listening to connecting you with creative ways to address the effects on your communities - we are ready to help.
It is an honor and a privilege to serve you and this incredible organization as President. While I have been on the board for over eight years, nothing could have prepared me for stepping in at this time. Now more than ever, strong and steady leadership is needed. I will not always get it right, but I am committed and promise to use all of my skills and talents to continue advancing ITGA, and most importantly, supporting all of you! I am humbled by this rewarding challenge.
Our incredibly talented board has become even stronger with our newly elected members. On July 24th, we will hold our first board orientation and later this summer we will have a virtual retreat to set goals for the year and beyond. It is my hope to reach out to you each month and share updates on the organization and answer questions you have.
Thank you for your commitment to ITGA and for your commitment to the communities you love and are invested in. We are in this with you and are not going anywhere!
In solidarity,
Emily Allen
ITGA President
