Dear St. Louis families,
Happy Friday! We said good-bye to our chicks this week, and we welcomed our Booster team on board for the next two weeks. You may have seen them outside each morning at drop off. The Booster team is working in partnership with the PTO to provide an educational approach to developing character and move more throughout the school day while raising funds. I hope your student(s) has shared the daily message or the character trait of the day. All students will be participating in the fun run Wednesday, May 26th for the Blue team or Thursday, May 27th for the White team. Please send your child in with a towel and a change of clothes just in case—it is going to be hot both days, water will be provided and ice pops to celebrate the fun run success. Students may wear their PE uniform for the event. Thank you to those families who have registered and/or pledged money towards the fun run. A reminder that if we reach $35,000 Mrs. Dyke will be slimed, and if we reach our goal, we will end our school year June 10th.
We welcome our newly elected PTO officers: President Mrs. Katie Schubert, Vice-Presidents Abbey Bresett and Liz Schwieterman, Secretary Mrs. Lindsay Little, and Secretary Mrs. Lisa Costello—I am particularly grateful to each of them for accepting the call to lead and support our wonderful PTO beginning this coming Fall. Please join me in thanking our outgoing board for their years of tremendous leadership and service to our school and families.
Saturday is the feast of St. Rita, she is one of my favorite saints as she was a wife, mother, widow, and spent her last 40 years as a nun who had a strong faith and devotion to Jesus. She was known to obtain impossible things from her prayers and devotion, her steadfast faith is admirable. As we look ahead, Scantron and HMH finish up this coming week—teachers are seeing tremendous growth in this end of year assessment across all grades. Friday, May 28th is an 11:30 am dismissal day as it is a teacher workday. I hope you get to take advantage of the beautiful warmer weather this weekend and enjoy the gift of family!
Continued prayers for each of your families,
Anne Dyke

Summer Tutoring
Our Title 1 teacher, Mrs. Kathy Shuey, is offering tutoring for a fee during the summer weeks. She has been STL's Title I Reading and Math teacher for grades K-5 for the past 7 years. Summer is the time for all students to keep progressing & get extra support, so that they will be ready to go in the fall. Mrs. Shuey will offer sessions that include hands-on activities, games, and computer review for each of the sessions in math, reading, writing, spelling, comprehension, and letter formation for the youngest. She is available to come to your home or go to a central meeting point (library). Sessions are currently available on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, or Thursdays for 45 minutes to an hour (depending on the age of the child). New Vaccine Guidance
Children no longer need to wait 2 weeks between COVID vaccines and other immunizations. Please speak to your doctor to determine whether the COVID vaccine is appropriate for your child. If your child receives the COVID vaccine this summer, please send an updated immunization form to school, as it will help with Fall planning and future quarantines.

It is Hot!
Please remember to send a water bottle with your child each day. Children may also keep an individual-sized tube of sunscreen in their backpack. If you believe your child may need assistance with this, please notify the teacher or nurse. Spray sunscreen is prohibited.
