URGENTLY SEEKING VOLUNTEER DRIVERS
The Combined Richmond/West Stockbridge Council on Aging is in need of volunteer drivers in order to continue to provide an essential service to our seniors. We are particularly in need of drivers willing to take on an ongoing weekly ride. Although exercise classes are now resuming after the threat of the COVID virus has waned, some of our seniors are unable to take advantage of them as they cannot get to the venues and these classes are of tremendous value to the health and well-being of our elders.
If you have a good driving record and are looking for a way to contribute to your town, please call Phyllis at 413-441-1106 or email at coa@richmondma.org.
P.S. Drivers receive senior tax-write-off benefits in return for their time.

With Every Purchase Hug a Donkey and Receive 10% Off Activities Booked Before Labor Day
Horse riding gear, athletic clothes, furniture and more will be available for purchase at the annual tag sale. The nonprofit is raising funds for its Equine-Assisted Psychotherapy and Equine-Assisted Learning programs, which benefit at-risk populations around the Berkshires. Veterans, special need individuals, inmates, active-duty service members, frontline healthcare workers, students, families and more come to the 7-acre ranch in Richmond, MA for healing and wellness, as well as fun, engaging activities for the whole family.
The tag sale will take place Friday, June 25th from 1:00p.m. to 6:00p.m. and Saturday, June 26th from 9:30a.m. to 2:30p.m. (no early birds please) at 101 Patton Rd in Richmond, MA. To find it, take the entrance off 295, then go to the end of Patton road (a dead end) and make a left up the hill. Look for the horses to know you have arrived.

RECYCLE BINS
The new supply of trash recycling bins are here at Town Hall. If you are a new resident of Richmond your first bin is free. All subsequent bins will cost $12.50 each.
Come to Town Hall and just request the number of bins you want. Please have a check made out to "Town of Richmond" in the correct amount.

Another reason to get vaccinated - As if you needed one
Beginning on Saturday, May 29th the Governor has directed that everyone who is fully vaccinated need not wear a mask when in public - with some obvious exceptions: Wearing a mask will still be mandatory for all individuals on public and private transportation systems (including rideshares, livery, taxi, ferries, MBTA, Commuter Rail and transportation stations), in healthcare facilities and in other settings hosting vulnerable populations, such as congregate care settings.

The FEMA COVID-19 Funeral Assistance program: Any COVID-19 related death that occurred after January 20, 2020 is eligible for assistance with expenses up to $9,000 per funeral, or a maximum of $35,000 for assistance related to more than one death.

HOMEBOUND VACCINATIONS - If you need an in-home vaccination, please contact the Homebound Vaccination Central Intake Line at (833) 983-0485. Representatives are available Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM in both English and Spanish, and there is access to translators for over 100 languages.

The Richmond Free Public Library
Offers museum passes for local museums available on a first come, first serve basis. Patrons may not reserve the passes. (The only exception to this rule is during the Hancock Shaker Village Baby Animal Days.)
The passes admit anywhere from 2-4 people per pass for free or discounted admittance. They are due back the next open library day by 9:30 AM on Tuesdays and Thursdays and by 9:00 AM on Saturdays.
Pass letters are given out for specific days and aren't reusable. Currently we have passes or letters for the following museums: Arrowhead, The Berkshire Botanical Garden, The Berkshire Museum, Chesterwood, The Clark, Hancock Shaker Village, Mass MoCA, The Mount and the Norman Rockwell Museum and The Trustees sites including Naumkeag and the Mission House.

Richmond Consolidated School is Now Registering
Preschool and Kindergarten students for the 2021-2022 school year. District policy states that children must be 5 years old as of Sept. 1, 2021, to enter Kindergarten. Children who are 3 years old as of Sept.1, 2021 are eligible to attend our Preschool program based on a lottery system.
Parents or guardians of eligible children should call the school office at 413-698-2207 for more information. Preschool and Kindergarten screenings and orientation will be held at a later date: information will follow.
If you suspect your child may have special needs and is three years old or older, please call the Special Education Director, Mary Shook, at 413-698-4001. to schedule an evaluation.
