Vacation Bible School Options for This Summer
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we are not able to offer an on-site Vacation Bible School this summer. Still, we hope we can offer the children the very best alternative with two different At-Home programs.

The first one is called Camp in a Box. Designed for age’s kindergarten through fifth grade, each box provides five days’ worth of activities that are screen free, encourage outdoor activity and minimize the demands on parents. Each day has a scripture and theme and all activities tie into that day’s theme.

The other option is called Compassion Camp: Be Loved, Be Kind, Be You. Designed for age’s kindergarten through fifth grade, this option also has five days’ worth of activities specifically designed for preschool age children. The theme is centered on compassion for others, the world and ourselves.

Each kit comes with all the supplies needed for your child to have a fun and meaningful VBS experience at home. It is suggested that one kit is purchased per child. The cost is $10.00/per kit.

The kits will be available for pick-up at the church entrance the week of June 15 th

To help with planning purposes, please contact Lisa Turner at lturner@gpmchurch.org to reserve kits for your children.
Easy Sidewalk Chalk!
I found this easy, simple recipe for sidewalk chalk:

1 cup water + 1 cup cornstarch + food coloring = FUN! Just add paintbrushes!

Showing Love and Support to Our Healthcare Professionals
Child drawing of Valentine s Day background made with wax crayons
Please read this message from Laura Burns, a member of GPMC:

Hi all,
I hope you are staying well at home during these unprecedented times. Many are looking for ways to lift the spirits of the front line healthcare heroes. Here’s a simple one for your children:

Have them make a card or drawing to show support - a thank you, a rainbow, a superhero, anything encouraging - and sign it from the GPMC community.

Drop them off in the plastic bin on the front porch of the Burns family: 1167 Grayton in Grosse Pointe Park.

They will be delivered to St. John along with baked goods from GPMC. Deliveries will continue through April so the more cards and drawings the better!

Summer Events for Children and Families
Family Camp, August 21 -23rd. Information about this awesome weekend can be found on the link below. This year, families have an opportunity to rent either a cabin (has a private bathroom and is air-conditioned), a Teepee (has bunk beds) or bring your own tent and bedding. Breakfast is shared cooking by the families and lunch and dinner are supplied by the Conference Center in the main building. Michindoh offers many different activities, swimming, water slide, hiking trails, canoeing, archery and much more. Contact Lisa Turner at lturner@gpmchurch.org for more information or questions.
Happy Spring Everyone!

Blessings,
Lisa Turner
