This Newsletter we get you up to speed on the need for Vitamin D, share some insight into why cooked foods may be better for your overall health, and offer up hope and healing for that (sciatic)pain in your butt.

Andrea
Cooked or Raw?
Traditional Chinese Medicine practitioner Marie Hopkinson explains a key principal of Chinese diet therapywhy eating more cooked foods than raw foods in the winter months is beneficial to your health and longevity.
The Power of D
Blood production and blood circulation drive the life force. Blood is made in the marrow of the bones and Vitamin D is essential to this process. Vitamin D is an important nutrient necessary in bone growth, cardiovascular health, immune boosting, and digestive health.

A whopping 41% of Americans have low Vitamin D levels and this includes young, active people who spend adequate amounts of time outside.
A Pain in the Butt!
Acupuncture by Andrea is seeking clients suffering from sciatic pain. Anyone with this hip, gluteal and leg pain knows the annoyance of daytime electrical zings shooting up your leg, nights of disturbed sleep and insomnia, and cramping during long car rides.

If this issue plagues you, schedule a targeted acupuncture sciatic treatment with me and be freed from that pain in your butt (and legs and feet...)
NuLignanSupplement of the Month

Lignans are phyto-nutrients found in unrefined grain products, seeds, fruits, and vegetables. “Good” gut bacteria converts plant lignans into human lignans such as enterolactone. When estrogen from internal or external sources is abundant, enterolactone reduces the activity of estrogen by occupying estrogen binding sites. As a result, plant lignans are thought to influence and delay development of breast, prostate, and colon cancers that depend on hormones to start and progress. Lignans also support cardiovascular health and help to moderate other estrogen dependent conditions such as menopausal symptoms and osteoporosis.

In a study conducted by the Roswell Park Cancer Institute, U.S.A, of 1,122 women with primary breast cancer, and 2,036 control subjects, those with the highest dietary intake of lignans had a reduced breast cancer risk. Additional studies suggest that lignans improve menopausal symptoms and maintain cognitive function in postmenopausal women, and some recent studies suggest a link between lignan consumption and bone reabsorption, and improved lipid profiles. Read more about the benefits of NuLignan.

NuLignan by Health Concerns is a new generation, highly bioavailable formula. It is also a strong antioxidant, and may help to modulate inflammatory reactions. Pharmacokinetic studies show that NuLignan is rapidly absorbedand has an excellent safety profile.

Should We Strive For Perfection?
You think that you can only establish true practice after you attain enlightenment, but it is not so. True practice is established in delusion, in frustration.
