Vermont Relief Fund for Immigrant Families
Governor Scott announced a $400 million COVID relief package. It includes $50 million to bail out the dairy industry, but no direct support for dairy workers – or other immigrant workers – left out of the other aid packages. This is unacceptable.

Migrant Justice  is asking you to call your legislators and tell them that the state has a responsibility to support those that Congress and the Trump administration are leaving behind. They are calling upon Vermont lawmakers to:

  • Create a Coronavirus Relief Fund to issue payments to all immigrant families excluded from federal relief due to immigration status
  • Give the same relief as the federal government: $1,200/adult and $500/child
  • Work with Migrant Justice and affected communities to develop and implement the fund

If they don’t answer, be sure to leave a message with your name and town where you live. And please note: not all legislators provide phone numbers; if the number given is 802-828-2228 (the statehouse direct line), the call will not go to your representative or senator. In that case, send them an email with the same message.

Please call today on this crucial and urgent issue!
Medicaid for All! Car Rally & BBQ
Blue Cross Blue Shield of Vermont has proposed an average increase of 6.3% for next year’s Vermont Health Connect premiums -- which, if approved, would represent a total increase of 55% in just seven years. At the same time, co-pays and deductibles have skyrocketed.

Join Vermont Workers Center on Saturday, May 30th, 12pm to protest health insurance rate hikes and call on Governor Scott to expand Medicaid to everyone in Vermont, regardless of income or immigration status.

Starting at the Berlin Park & Ride, hear speakers at the Blue Cross headquarters and Governor Scott's office in Montpelier, and end at a nearby parking lot for a socially distanced free meal by the People’s Kitchen . The entire way, people will be able to stay in their vehicles and listen to a Zoom call with a program of speeches and music.
