Hillside Ventures is excited to announce our Black History Month VC Panel Series. This panel was curated to highlight diverse perspectives within the VC and startup community. Through our friends from IU Ventures, HBCUvc, Jopwell, Overlooked Ventures, Synchrony, and Softbank, we are ecstatic to share this discussion with you all.

Our goal is to help initiate deep conversations, pertaining to the lived experiences of marginalized individuals within these spaces. We will be kicking off this two-part series with our Investors Panel on Wednesday, February 9th. Here, panelists will be discussing their experiences navigating through the VC ecosystem and ways in which firms can contribute to impactful investments.

Be Fearless Summit
The Be Fearless Summit is a program geared towards college-aged students who are looking to get out of their comfort zone and land their dream job. The Werth Institute has partnered with Alexa Curtis to bring the Be Fearless Summit to UConn! This conference-style event will feature keynote speaker, Amanda Torchia (Miss Connecticut), and many other exciting panel speakers including some of UConn's own undergraduate female entrepreneurs!

Students will have the opportunity to network and meet inspiring successful leaders. The first 50 students to register will receive a fab swag bag filled with goodies! A networking lunch will be provided and the opportunity to be matched with a mentor!

Do you want to be involved in the first and only University of Connecticut student-run venture capital firm? We are seeking new talent for the Fall 2022 semester. Hillside Ventures manages $1M and provides capital funding for innovative start-up companies in the EdTech, InsurTech, and Sustainability industries.

Hillside offers students real-life, hands-on experiences with the opportunity to speak with CEOs, founders, UConn alumni, faculty, as well as the opportunity to attend business conferences across the United States.

Join UConn Consulting Group!

The UConn Consulting Group is a student-run strategy consulting group based on the Storrs campus. Our organization partners with real companies to provide data-driven and innovative solutions to a firm's existing business problems. Through hands-on professional consulting experience, students are well prepared with both the technical understanding and collaborative aspect that comes with working in high-performing jobs post graduation.

From the experience they have gained through UCG, our alumni have advanced to top business school programs (Harvard Business School, Tuck School of Business, and MIT Sloan) and top consulting firms (McKinsey and Company, Bain and Company, A.T. Kearney, and Boston Consulting Group).
