March Maintenance Guidelines

After years of working in the industry and building a nursery business around Oklahoma's inclement weather, we are suggesting the following maintenance guidelines:

* Apply ferti-lome's blight spray to help control and prevent blight on apple and pear trees when they begin to bloom. This is the only opportunity to apply this prevention.

Apply twice shredded Marcum's Cedar Mulch to control weeds in beds.

* In mid-March seed cool-season turf grass.

Featured Tree
Oklahoma enjoys this tree year-round, and we consider the Cleveland Select Pear a beautiful selection for any Oklahoma landscape. Clusters of pure white flowers emerge in early spring. Its foliage turns a purple-reddish-orange in the fall.
Featured Shrub
There's a new twist to the Abelia variety! It's gorgeous and we can't wait to share it with you! This evergreen shrub has clusters of white flowers throughout the summer and has colorful foliage year-round.

Chump's Chatter

What product does Marum's recommend for use on small plants to extend their hardiness by 2 - 9 degrees?

Dahlia's Answer: FreezePruf, 50 degrees, and 60th Anniversary

Dahlia's Dirt!

Recommended guidelines for FreezePruf...

The calendar tells us that spring is near, but typical Oklahoma weather, keeps us in disbelief.

While none of us has control over mother nature, a plant's health and prior care effect how well it tolerates the cold. FreezePruf adds to your plant's ability to better tolerate the cold.

Caring and protecting your small plants with FreezePruf in the upcoming weeks can make all the difference in your spring plants.

While FreezePruf is not one of our private label products, we use FreezePruf on our own plants and are confident in recommending it for yours.
