UW-Parkside Mask Requirement – Summer Term
Beginning June 14th, the following indoor mask/face covering guidelines are in effect until further notice:
-
Masks/Face coverings are required inside campus buildings for anyone who has not completed the COVID-19 vaccination process (i.e. appropriate dosing and 2-week waiting period). Masks may be removed when eating, alone in a private office, and/or in one’s residence hall room.
-
Masks/Face coverings are required for all participants (vaccinated or unvaccinated) at indoor gatherings where students or community members are present. This includes in-person summer classes/labs, admissions tours/events, youth camps and summer conferences, concerts, and 3rd party sponsored events.
-
Masks/Face coverings are optional for fully vaccinated UW-Parkside employees attending meetings/events with other UW-Parkside employees. This includes one-on-one meetings in private offices, staff meetings, and other employee gatherings.
-
Masks/Face coverings are optional for fully vaccinated people working out or participating in any physical activity in the Sports & Activity Center.
We also want to acknowledge that the wearing of a mask/face covering is NOT an indication of one’s vaccination status. Individuals may choose to wear a mask due to personal choice, underlying health conditions, and/or for the protection of vulnerable family members.
Remember, you can get vaccinated by calling the Student Health & Counseling Center at 262-595-2366 to make an appointment. Or you can visit https://www.vaccines.gov/search to find a vaccination clinic near you.

Skylight Construction

On June 14, work will begin to replace the skylight glass above Main Place in Wyllie Hall.
June 14 & 15, there will be a crane pick to lift supplies and equipment to the roof of Wyllie Hall, and during those dates no one can be in the areas directly underneath the crane’s reach. The links below show the areas on campus and inside Wyllie Hall where no one will be allowed – they are shown in red inside the documents. There will be barriers put up on the interior and exterior of the building. There will be a pathway along the L1 concourse for traffic flow on campus. People who work in these areas have already been notified.
The skylight work is expected to take 6-8 weeks. During this time frame Lower Main Place and Mid-Main Place will be closed. Upper Main Place will be closed as well, with the exception of a protected walkway to allow traffic on the L1 concourse. There will be barriers and signage denoting areas that are closed. Please do not circumvent the safety barriers.
We appreciate your patience while this work is being done.
