Groundbreaking | June 17th: Tune in on social media as we begin building our new fur-ever home! This has been a long time in the making, and we are SO excited to get started! Onward!
Supper Club: This month BHS will not be hosting a Supper Club, stay tuned for future contactless/pick-up Supper Club experiences!
In the meantime, Butte Humane Society would like to encourage everyone to support the many local restaurants that have hosted Supper Club in the past with pick up and to-go orders!
Featured Animal: Maurice
Meet Cuddly Maurice!
Say hello to Maurice, a precious pit mix with SO MUCH love to give!
Maurice has had a fairly long stay here at BHS, he’s been with us since October of 2019, and while we love taking care of him, we can’t wait for him to find his people! He can be very nervous around new people and needs some time and treats to warm up. He loves to cuddle and will melt into your lap as soon as he’s deemed you a friend! We’re hoping to find him a quieter, adult only home where he can gets lots of attention come out of his shell at his own pace. Maurice also has a sponsored adoption fee, so there’s no charge for adopting him! He may be able to get along with other dogs with some slow introductions.

Next, I fostered Boss! This guy made his way into my heart and my favorite thing about him was how sweet and happy he is. He always had the biggest smile on his face that was so contagious. He made our days better.
Lastly, I fostered Clark for a little while and my favorite thing about him was how cuddly and loving he is. He just wants a best friend and during everything that has been going on, it was nice...read more
Sweet Success: Jake

I have now had an opportunity to see him in various situations -- during home improvement projects with various disruptions in furniture availability, others working in my home, occasional visits from a neighboring cat, changes in weather that affect his interest in going outside.
Through it all, he has expressed calmness -- he is not disinterested or inattentive but seems to quickly assess the new condition or disturbance and usually decides it is not worth any further action or anxiety. I rationalize this as: for a cat who has been through the crisis of the Paradise fire and survived, he is not going to worry about little things...read more
