The Recovery Act created new requirements for Notices and Evictions from October 1, 2021 through March 31, 2022.

After this presentation from Kimball, Tirey & St. John LLP, there will be a speaker to discuss the practicalities on the rental assistance program.

As a part of the 2021-2022 state budget, HCD received additional staff to grow its accountability efforts and formed the Housing Accountability Unit.

This unit oversees enforcement of several state laws including:
  • Housing Elements
  • Housing Accountability Act
  • No Net Loss Law
  • Density Bonus Law
  • Anti-Discrimination in Land Use
  • Accessory Dwelling Unit Ordinances
  • Preservation Noticing Law,
  • Surplus Land Act

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience in working independently and successfully in a fast-paced and high-profile environment, think creatively and analytically, be flexible and highly organized, and be committed to SDHF’s mission.

  • $18 - $20, based on experience  
  • Paid holidays, vacation and sick leave  
  • Part-time position, 20 – 33 hours per week (some evening hours required)

SDSU is requesting information and qualifications from qualified developers (Development Teams) that have demonstrated success in completing affordable multi-family housing projects, employing various public and private funding sources, and demonstrating compliance with applicable public jurisdictions.

Volunteer for We All Count - Feb 24

The new date is February 24, 2022.

The purpose of #WeAllCount is to collect data on the needs of people experiencing homelessness in our community. This count also provides an excellent opportunity to increase awareness of homelessness and to spark action.
Notice of Funding Availability – Project Based Vouchers

Application submittals must be complete and in compliance with all of the specified application requirements set forth in the NOFA solicitation documents. A completed Project Summary and Homekey NOFA application may be submitted through February 25, 2022.

The City of Chula Vista’s Emergency Rental Assistance Program (ERAP) helps eligible households in the City of Chula Vista who have been financially impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. The program provides payment assistance for renters who need help with rent and utilities.

"A 1936 map of San Diego from the Home Owners' Loan Corporation, marking which neighborhoods it believed were at highest risk of mortgage default. Those determinations were heavily influenced by a neighborhoods' racial demographics and led to the term "redlining."

"That color coding is what led to the term, “redlining.”

Here’s how the federal agency described Logan Heights:

“Racial concentration of colored fraternity. Homes show only slight degree of pride of ownership and are on the average negligently maintained.”

"And La Jolla:

“Residents embrace nearly all types of professions and are all white. No threat of foreign infiltration. Homes are well maintained.”
