Ways to Help Feed Children in
Our Community This Summer

Volunteer With Summer Lunch Buddys
|
|
Our Summer Lunch Buddys program is sponsored by our Children's First Mission Team. Beginning June 1, pairs of volunteers are needed to bag prepared breakfast and lunch meal items that will be delivered directly to the porch of Tucker Mobile Homes each day. Volunteers will put meal bags in a tub for children to "grab and go" to keep safely distanced. No food prep or close contact with children is needed. Volunteers will need to wear a mask and gloves (provided). To volunteer, go to:

Make a Super Pack for Smart Lunch/ Smart Kids
|
|
Tucker First also serves as a DeKalb County distribution hub for
Smart Lunch Smart Kids
. This program is sponsored by Action Ministries (a mission of the North Georgia Conference of the UMC). In past years, the program has used Activities Center to make and assemble sandwiches and lunch kits. With the COVID-19 restrictions, the program has switched to assembling SuperPacks. Everything is pre-packaged and then put into gallon size bags.

If you would like to the Smart Lunch Smart Kid program or assemble a Superpack,
- Purchase items from the Amazon wish list (click photo for more information)
- Assemble a SuperPack like the ones shown in the photo.
The packs should be assembled in gallon sized Ziploc bags and can be dropped off at the Activities Center on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursd

32 Pints Collected - Thank You!
|

The Red Cross blood drive this past Wednesday collected 32 pints of blood. Thank you to everyone who donated and volunteered to make this happen. There will be another blood drive in June. Please consider donating or volunteering.

Save The Date - Appalachia Service Project
|
|
The date for this year's Appalachia Service Project (ASP) mission trip is October 10-12. The mission team will leave on Thursday, October 10 and drive to Johnson City,TN, spend the night, work Friday and Saturday and leave the work site about 4:00 pm. After much prayer and discussion Tucker First has decided to cancel our usual Vacation Bible School (VBS) program in June. At this time we are planning to open a VERY SMALL GROUP VBS
the week of June 22-26 from 9:30 am - 12:00 pm. To comply with regulations, there is a limit on the number and ages of children.

Even though Vacation Bible School and many camps for children have been cancelled or reduced in size for June, there are still opportunities in July for your child at Tucker First. Go to

In the wake of the pandemic, the church office is closed. If you need to drop your tithe off at the church, please use the locked mailbox in the front of the church. It is checked daily.
